No, DS is off and so is DH who works in a different school district then were DS goes.

I am surprised that a school would be open on Veteran' Day, and makes me wonder what holiday is taking its place.....every school is allowed so many days off a year....so if they are working today, what do they have off, extra day during spring break?

The kids here have school. They had off Labor day (after starting back Aug 29) and then not until Thanksgiving.

In Maryland we use to have off the Federal Holidays because there are so many working for the Federal govt. But now they have to balance Christan holidays, Jewish holidays, and Federal holidays to make everyone happy. The public schools and some of the Catholic schools had school today. I had school.

Actually, yesterday was Veteran's Day. This is another one of those Monday celebrated holidays.

My kids had school today and my husband had to work. My husband does IT support for a bank and I believe the bank was open, too. My brother, a mail carrier, was off, though.

WOWZA,I thought everyone had today off from school and any federal place of employment, everything here federal or state were off.

I didn't know till now its per town/ state if you get to take it off.

BTW No School, Bank( that I know of ) Or federal.

No school here. They also had Friday off (teacher workshop day). But, next week they only have three days off, not the entire week. Most of the area schools have the whole week off for Thanksgiving.

We don't get next week off either! We have 1/2 days Mon - Wed and we go back the following Tuesday. I won't complain about the 1/2 days. On those days I feel as though I only work about 15 minutes.
