Unless I take the time to figure out why I am staying and then decide that I really want to leave. I dont see that happening though.

I'm staying but just won't be around as much until this mess with the ads and slowness has been fixed. I am on high spped and it's insane how slow the site is. At least the ads don't flash now...thank you but there are still ads where no ads need to be (ie: in the middle of threads and postings...separating out boards. Ads don't belong there. They used to be on top...maybe on the bottom of the page. Keep them where they belong

This latest stuff is very annoying, but it would have to be much worse to get me out of here. There are way more people and reasons to stay, for me, than to leave.

I think everyone pretty much knows what I'll be doing.

Without complaints about what we don't like, the owners would never know what we liked and what we didn't like. There's nothing wrong with complaining and letting them know what works and what doesn't.

So as long as we can complain and get results from it, that's fine!!

I'm staying IF things continue to improve. Now if the owners completely ignored us that would be different, but it looks like they're working on improving the changes they made. So that's fine by me.

Just hope the owners know that WE are the ones who keep MyCoupons going!!

I paid $20 back in the day. I'm not going anywhere....

We made a bunch of changes. Things seems to be running a bit faster to me, but that's not important, are things any better for any of you?

We implemented 3 MySQL slaves, so now a total of 4 database servers are helping with the site.
We moved some of the page elements into a memory cache (memcached)
We slimmed down some of the javascript used for some of the advanced features

It just loaded faster than the last couple of days to me.

Well, I missed a few days, I noticed the new layout and ads, but I did not experience any of the site slowness that I have been reading about. I've been here since 1998 and have seen alot of changes - and alot of griping. But things always work out and for sure, I'm staying! I don't post alot but read the boards 3-4 times a week.....

Greg....I keep getting database errors now and again, and I wasn't getting those before...but things seem a little faster when I don't get the errors

I have been getting them quite frequently also, but no problems with the site being slow.

Those darn DB errors, I have what I believe to be an answer but I've been up for 48 hours straight so not going to make that change tonight. I need to be more rational. I have what I believe to be a solution and the boards will be down for about an hour tomorrow morning to implement it.

I thought the DB errors were just you working on things. It's usually just a minute and the site is working again.

Good grief get some sleep, I think everyone can wait awhile longer. Isn't there other things to be doing to prepare for the holidays this time of year??

If Greg's head nods off and hits the keyboard he is liable to suffer from a concussion and not know what he was doing when he wakes up. I think it would benefit everyone just to be patient. We could have the great MyCoupons Blackout of 2007 with the press of one key and then the media would be jumping in and all kinds of contraversy would get stirred up and then the next thing ya know President Bush will see to it that oil prices go up again because of the disaster and then our gas prices will go up, how will that help in saving money?

Be patient people, because one wrong press of a key and it could all be going down!!!

And honestly, I always think the 'good-bye' posts are a tad annoying. If you are going to go, then go and cease with the farewell ceremony.

You know what would be neat though? A chat room. Remember when we used to go in at nighttime and talk? One time, I think there were well over 150 members logged in at the same time.
