I need an education on lead.. I have 2 kids ages 3 and 4. My mother doesn't seem to be worried about all these warnings since the boys don't put toys in their mouth.. does this matter? can it get on their hands? I really don't know the first thing about it.

Lead can get into the mouth from the hands. Wikipedia's usually the best starting point.

I think I am niave about it, my kids are old enough that they aren't going to chew on toys, or scrape paint off a window sill (plus we have a newer house so not to worry).

I think it's more likely that it would be in our drinking water or something else that is ingested and contaminated, not some toy or some object?

I don't worry as much as I should maybe?
