How many days do your kids get off for Thanksgiving?

My kids are off the whole week.

Well, we get Thursday and Friday off for Thanksgiving.

Then, we get Monday and Tuesday off for deer hunting days.

We get Wednesday, Thursday and Friday here...

Growing up we always got those three days off, plus the Monday after for deer hunting....

My kids go Wed. for a half day and then off Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving break.

I was just sitting here wondering for those who kids get a whole week off, do they get a spring break?

Seems like the days would have to be made up somewhere.....

My youngest dd gets the whole week off. She goes to a charter school and their regular school week is Tues-Fri., 8:00-3:30(1 1/2 hrs. longer per day than a traditional school's day here). Every Monday is used for staff mtgs. and other things that would take place on a traditional school's in-service days. As a result, they are able to use the extra calendar days to give everybody a longer break.

Thursday and Friday.

When I grew up in Pennsylvania we got the first day of deer hunting season off (that Monday after Thanksgiving). Where we live now we get the Wed-Fri off, no Monday.

Same here.

When I was in school they tried one year w/only giving us Monday off and most of the boys were out on Tuesday "sick."

We just get Thursday and Friday off and it's been that way since I was a kid. I also have never heard of getting days off for hunting and we live in a very popular deer hunting area. My family doesn't hunt, but I think our hunting season is over the weekend anyway. I'd have to ask my DH to be sure.

We get Wed off because the teachers work parent teacher conference for two nights in Sept/Oct. Then Thur & Friday also.

We are out now for the whole week and we do get a week off for Spring break.

Yeah, most of the boys, some of the girls, a few teachers, and a lot of bus drivers. Our bus drivers actually petitioned a few years ago for a third day because too many of them call in sick and they have trouble making the bus runs.

Same schedule here- no deer hunting days either.
Kids are so looking forward to it.

Ours get out early on Wednesday and off on Thurs and Friday.

And interestingly, our Deer Season starts Tomorrow.....

My youngest (middle school) only goes Monday, while the oldest (high school) goes Monday and Tuesday. Kind of stupid to have transporation running, IMHO, for just the high schoolers. I'm SO looking forward to them being home!

Yep. the days are made up at the end of the school year. We go an extra week. They do have Spring Break Week off.

Thursday and Friday only

We then get 3 other vacation breaks - and all are for like 10 days or so

I teach in Ohio, we get wed-sun off......... when I lived in Wv the kids got the week after Thangsgiving off for deer season. No spring break...... Most kids missed, so they decided to just give the whole week off. It works for everyone

Same as last year, my kids get Wednesday, Thursday & Friday. Two years ago we got the whole week off and I've heard that next year we will once again be getting the whole week off.

Wed-Friday here. No hunting days, although my kids would love that.

Shotgun opened today here, but bow has been in for a while.

I'm already over deer season this year. At least turkey season is short, I don't mind it so much. They don't do much squirrel hunting anymore, it seems, even though that season is the longest.

Both of my boys go Monday, Tuesday and have Wed-Fri off. One goes to a private school, the other to public. This is the first year the public schools gave all of Wednesday off, they've always had to go for a 1/2 day.

Never heard of this hunting days off stuff....guess they don't do that in the suburbs in the Northeast!
