We should be proud of our country and in this week of thanks, each of us should thank whatever deity we believe in that we live here, in the freest and most prosperous nation on the planet. That the planet has EVER known. We are so fortunate, we have more freedom, wealth etc than anywhere ever in history. Some of us tend to forget that.

But on this Thanksgiving the rest of the world ought to give thanks to American national sovereignty, too. When something terrible and destructive happens – a tsunami hits Indonesia, an earthquake devastates Pakistan – the United States can project itself anywhere on the planet within hours and start saving lives, setting up hospitals and restoring the water supply.

God bless America. God bless Americans. God bless our brave soldiers.
