Hi, We use Abeka academy for classes. It is a dvd series. For about $1000, you get 6 classes. It comes with all the textbooks. It has been working for us. I do English myself so I can tailor the reading & writing for my 2 ds'. They are 12 & 15. You have to be organized and disciplined to do this. Check to see what the requirements are for your state, so you meet the requirements. Check the website for your state for this info. In SC the teacher (parent) has to have a high school diploma or the equivalent and need to keep attendance records. We need 180 days. If you need any other help pm me or email me at judy.hirtle@gmail.com HTH and good luck with you choice. Judy |

here is the virtual academy we use K12: K12 Inc. - Home schooling curriculum, public school options, virtual academy schools, virtual charter, distance learning programs for elementary & high school grades, in Science, Math, History, English, Language Arts and more! my son is going through them and it's a wonderful school program. we get report cards every nine weeks and all the materials and even a computer if you need it, is provided through them. I am not sure what state you are in (we are in arkansas and don't have to have to meet any special requirements to teach) but it would be worth looking into. As the previous poster stated, you have to be very organized plus you have to be a teacher instead of a mom which is hard sometimes but i wouldn't have it any other way. Good luck in whatever you decide to do.
