Company's coming! What's the weirdest thing you do?

I have the family dinners for both Thanksgiving and Christmas and for some reason, I always feel like I need to replace the toilet seat before the holidays!! Anyone else do something unusual? Please share and help me feel like I'm not a freak!

Well I make sure the bathrooms are clean, enough toilet paper out, and then usually when the company LEAVES, I have to sweep my linoleum - we have a lot of it and it is very light/almost white and I cannot stand crumbs/dirt on it under my bare feet. My husband's joke is wait til they get out of the driveway before you get your sweeper out dear!

I have to do a real good cleaning before and after company comes and goes. I also have to change the shower curtain and the rugs in my bathroom. I also have to make sure I have a lot of apple scented candles and I light them just before my company arrives.

I make sure the storage containers are neat and orderly. I also make sure the pantry, stove, oven and the refrigerator are spotless.

This cracked me up! I am having Thanksgiving for the first time at my house and I was thinking of running to the store tonight to get a new toilet seat because I think ours looks awful! LOL Everyone coming has seen the seat before but for some reason I feel the urge for a new one! LOL

I replace toilet seats pretty often, which my d/h thinks is fairly insane. Ah well.

I run around cleaning places guests will certainly never see, like my bedroom closet or the garage. Can't explain it, just have to do it.

Oh, and sometimes I just hide.

I don't do this anymore, but I used to shove all kinds of stuff in the dryer. It's amazing how tidy you make a place look!
The bad part is emptying the dryer the next time you do laundry.

I have never bought a new toilet seat LOL We were in our first house 8 years and have been in our 2nd house 2 years....maybe we have weird toilet seats LOL

I make sure that I have my husband check the "high spots" for dirt/grime, etc because he's 6'4" and I'm 5'3" so I don't normally care about the high stuff. I also like to have lots of wine chilled and "good ice" ready (I hate freezer ice...I have to have the clear cubes from the store).

I dump the dirty clothes that won't fit in our tiny laundry room in the bath tub. Close the curtain, and instant clean.

I change all the air fresheners after I do a big time cleaning. I wash all the sheets and run them through the fabric softener cycle twice so that they smell extra good

some of the post have me cracking up. I don't know of anything Odd I do, I'm sure there's things i do that others go Hmmmmmm about tho..

P.s the comment of dirty clothing in the dryer thats too funny. I have never thought to do this. But sounds like a winner to me when time is limited to how much needs to be cleaned before they get here and washing and drying is very time consuming chore for me.
