Yep. Organized Chaos. This thread is to post November and December sent and received packages. I'm keeping a master list and checking it twice.

Many of you have posted on several different threads, so we're going to try to consolodate everything here.

I'm getting PMs and e-mails from many of you wondering if your buddy received a package. Please, please be curteous and post when you receive something so your buddy knows that it arrived safely.

We still have some lost packages and some November packages that need to be sent. On the other hand, some over acheivers have already sent their December packages.

I hope you've all enjoyed this!

I sent both and received my November package. I'm waiting like a little girl on Christmas Eve for my December package.

I have received all packages thus far, and have sent out everything but the Dec. package. Have not received Dec. package, but HEY, it's not December yet. My secret buddy has been wonderful and extremely prompt, and I have loved the creativity of her packages. If I don't get the next one til Spring, that's fine too-I know it will be worth the wait!

I have sent everything short of the December package. It will go out probably next week. I received my December package yesterday. It was a nice little envelope which has kept me curious. I will put it under the Christmas tree and enjoy it then...if I can wait!!!

Thank you so much for the Christmas goody box! I was so excited... I loved everything in it. The kitchen set, the wrapping items-tape included the snowman candles,the candy dish is great,the shelf sitter is adorable, i cant wait to use the silver tea lite holders. I'm looking forward to some alone time to have my hot chocolate and cookie. The candybar wrapper is so cute and i hate to open it... however, it is chocolate! I love the Christmas tree pans and can't wait to use them.

I loved doing this. It was so fun shopping, trying to think about what someone you've never met would like. I hope you enjoyed it all! I too am sorry it's over. We'll definitely have to do this again.

Hey girl,
Got your package today-full of the best goodies-candles, the cutest tart burner ever, my husband's favorite Danish butter cookies, and the wonderful bath products, the candles, the votive holder, the butter rum candies (oh I LOVE these) and the chocolates. But I must say, the best gift of all was your note--it was so thoughtful and made me cry--healing tears. Thank you for including that. Your boxes have been so intuitive w/ regards to the contents and the timing. I think you are pretty amazing!!! And I don't think it's a coincidence, but more kismet, just know, as weird as this sounds, Nutella is my son Patrick's FAVORITE sweet treat.

I received my December package today. Thank you so much Krissy (NYMOM40). There are so may goodies in the box. We loved everything! Hubby loves the razor. You must have known I'd forget to buy blades this week when I went shopping. Now I don't have to make a special trip for them. The boys love their gifts also. I love the new razor and all the bath items. I'll be home Friday night alone and plan on filling the tub, burning the incense, listening to music with a glass of wine and relaxing. Yea Me! I love the 2 ornaments and can't wait to decorate the tree. This year we are putting up a real one that is in a pot so we can plant it outside. The 2 votive holders are beautiful and will look pretty burning on my fire place mantle.
I've had so much fun sending and receiving these packages. I can't wait to do it again.

Normally, I would not post private messages here or anywhere else BUT this one truly bothers me BECAUSE CocoDiva is doing the EXACT same thing to me that she is upset with her Secret Buddy for doing. Would someone PLEASE help me understand WHY this is fair to me? I understand why she is upset about not receiving a package BUT it is not right NOR following the rules of the game to do what she is doing or should I say NOT doing.

Third, to MY Secret Buddy, I am working on getting things together for YOUR last package because I want it to be a GREAT one for you. It may be the beginning of next week before I get the package out. I have to be at the hospital with a friend as of Thursday morning.

I am sorry Coco did that to you. That wasn't right. Since this started I have not received one package due to a zip code error but I would never hold it against my buddy (I cant say who she is since her package didn't go out just yet..or did it) so Coco should be happy that at least she received 2 packages, how would she feel if she didn't get any and it was because of the postal service.

I'm sorry that you aren't going to be getting a December package from your buddy.

Two wrongs don't make a right. I think it's a little childish of your buddy to not hold up her end of the deal and send a package just because she didn't get one. I mean, really.

On another note: My December package WILL go out. Hopefully next week. My 13 year old broke her foot today so I spent most of the day at the drs and will do the same tomorrow while she gets a cast.

Debbie, I am so sorry you're not getting a December package from your buddy. I am NOT your secret buddy, obviously but if you PM me your address I'll send you a package. I would LOVE to, in fact. I don't agree with your not getting one just because she didn't. I'm pulling up my chair to sit right next to you, still puzzled also!!

OK, as the *hostess* of this game, I feel like I should chime in here. As you all know, I took over for Addison mid-stream. It's been let's say....interesting...trying to keep everything straight and everyone happy. From the beginning cocoa was not happy because her packages*were not worth enough*. She wanted me to give her a new buddy halfway through the game, but obviously it was impossible to do that. It was also suggested that I send packages out to everybody who missed one, because I was in charge now. Sheesh!

I've done my best, and have sent many PMs and e-mails to try to keep things moving. I hope the rest of you are happy and had fun doing this.

I DO plan to organize another one after the holidays. If anyone else feels that they would like to be the organizer (or can do a better job at it), feel free to offer!

Freer, I think you've done a wonderful job, please dont feel otherwise. I'm sure her buddy didn't think her packages weren't worth enough, I thought it was the thought that counts. I also dont think it makes any sense to punish her buddy because she didn't get a package. That logic is messed up. We were each responsible for our own buddies so i dont think its up to you to cover packages for us.

Wow!!! I'm sitting here hoping I read this wrong but I keep reading it the same....

I can't imagine anyone complaining about the worth of their packages...really....they were only suppose to be around $5 anyway. And to want to trade buddies? I understand being upset if you didn't receive your packages....but things can happen, packages lost, misplaced, whatever.....

freer, you have done a WONDERFUL job as hostess, organizer and planner. I have had so much fun with this. I so enjoyed buying for my buddy, sending those packages, waiting to see what were her favorites and then to receive packages, it was like Christmas each month. I'm now anxious to find out who my buddy is. I hope you haven't had tons of complaints like the above. I hope you've been able to enjoy this also. And I so hope we can do this again.

Holy Moly! Talk about not being in the spirit! I think CocoaDiva's attitude is very confusing! I've had SO much fun with this! I loved receiving my packages (from my fabulous buddy Judy!!!), but I also enjoyed sending them, too! Unfortunately, I don't know if my buddy liked hers... I'm actually worried about her. She hasn't posted for almost a month, so I haven't heard if she received the last two. Mostly, I'm just hoping that she's okay!


freer, I can't imagine what you've had to put up with. I think you've done a great job. Thanks for managing it. I hope we get to do it again.

I was not part of this but I just have to chime in on this.

I can't believe that someone is being so petty over something that was supposed to be fun. Ever heard of the "It's the thought that counts"? Maybe your buddy doesn't have alot of money to put into a package, I'm sure your buddy put alot of thought and love into your package and for you to act that way is just being selfish and petty. I wouldn't care what someone sent me. When I do things for people I don't count the dollars as I do it and I sure as heck don't add things up when I get gifts. I am just happy someone thought enough of me to do something.

I am just shocked that someone would even have the nerve to ask to change buddies mid stream because she didn't feel they were good enough (shake head)

I'm sorry I stuck my nose into something that I wasn't a part of I just couldn't sit by and read this and just not say anything. I am sooooo sorry to littlewolf that you had to suffer because of someone elses selfishness.

Newfun4me (and everybody else for that matter)....

There are a couple of participants who we have not gotten any posts from for a while. (Cocoa's for one). I have no way of contacting them, short of e-mails and PMs. I have had e-mails bounce back and PMs not responded to. We have no idea...and probably won't know...what has transpired in their lives. I can only hope that they are OK, and nothing serious has happened to them or their families. I consider all of you to be friends and appreciate all your good words and concerns. Shops2much has been such a good example of *giving* being a good feeling. Even though she hasn't recieved anything at all, she has sent her packages and had a blast. (If you wan't to send a little something to her, you could always PM her for her mailing address.) Wink, wink.

I didn't mean to sound flippant in my last post about organizing this again. Sometimes my sarcasm gets me in trouble. Honestly, I'll be glad to do this again. Suggestions are welcome.

All I want to say is, I think people that don't follow the rules should not be allowed to join any future secret buddy groups!!! I have had so much fun buying for my secret buddy that even if I didn't receive one package I would still considered this secret buddy exchange a success. However, I have been blessed with a wonderful secret buddy who makes me feel like a 6 year old on Christmas morning every time a package shows up. To me thats what this was all about, not how much was sent and who got what!

Freer, I certainly could not do a better job than you. I so appreciate this; it has been a great gift over the past couple of months. However, if you would like a break, I would happily step up to the plate to organize the next gift exchange. A word to the wise though, if you PM me regarding a bad package, I'm gonna' mail you a bag of fish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am going to chime in too. Just an example of how things can look like someones package was not worth what they thought it should be. This is me describing the same package.

I got my package today
I got a bag of candy
spoons for the kitchen
towels for my kitchen
and a little gold box


I received my package today THANK YOU so much buddy! My kids are already into the wonderful bag of candy. They all say Thank You! The spoons that you sent are really going to come in handy when I have company. That was so sweet! I love to cook how could you know that? The towels for the kitchen are perfect my kids are always messing up my good kitchen towels so these are going to be perfect. As for the beautiful gold box that you sent my daughter has already claimed it for all of her little treasures that she has. She says Thank you.

See how your perception of a gift can be slanted. It's all in how you look at things.

The person that did not send cocoa's last package is missing in action and I am really concerned about her. I have gone as far as to do a search for her online and found her phone number and tried calling her. I have yet to get an answer. That to me is really scary and I know it is the right number. She is a very sweet lady on the boards and I really do hope that she is ok. So if you are reading this.....girl let me know that you are ok!

I also want to remind everyone that is not sending out packages at the beginning of this ""game" everyone was under the understanding that this was the same as a trade and that you have to go through with their part.

I am sorry that this has turned into this But for the ones that have enjoyed it I am so happy!

Freer you have done a fabulous job and I thank you so very very much! This couldn't have been as much fun as it was if it weren't for you! Thank you again.

One more thing cocoa I did answer you. You complained the entire time about your gifts not being as nice as everyone else's. Your poor buddy even pm'd me and knew you didn't like what you were sent by what you had posted. Her feelings were very hurt. But I did answer all of your pm's except for the one last week I didn't think it deserved a response.

oops one more thing. The packages were to only be worth $5.00. Anything over that was just someone being very generous it did not mean that everyone had to spend anymore than $5.00..

I emailed Freer the other day saying that I felt bad for CocoaDiva and thought I might send her a package. Freer filled me in on some of this story and I thought.. "oh my...no way!"
Turns out I was mistaken. I had thought she was ishop2much and hadn't received ANY packages because of the zip code problem. Must have mixed up 2 different buddies. When I realized that this was someone else, who was complaining that the gifts she received were not good enough and that she wasn't going to send HER buddy a gift...on MAN!

What is the thinking here? I just don't get some people sometimes.

I have LOVED this exchange and am so psyched to do it again. Carrie, it was a fabulous idea, really! And thank you Freer for keeping it going. Let's not let one bad apple ruin the fun!
