I RECOMMEND the charger......We all the love Wii, and it gets played a lot on the weekends, and we were going through batteries pretty quickly...I love the charger, since you just place them remotes on the charger when your done...They are always ready to go......My parents bought a Wii after playing ours, and I sent them a charger, and they also bought one for the nursing home that my grandpa was in before he died, and the residents there love it, so also sent them two chargers (they had 4 remotes) The Wii can be addictive......

We use rechargeable AA batteries -- bought the recharger and batteries on eBay. Maybe another option to consider?

I have tried both ways, rechargeable batteries and the charger. I think I like the charger the best because they actually rest in the charger and are always ready when it comes time for a Wiily long weekend .

We bypassed the charger when we got our Wii...but it is on the list of things to buy as soon as possible. Glad to hear other's thoughts...Great post OP
