Pedometers.....

For those of us who are trying to lose weight I have found a pedometer to be a good friend. When I wear it, I am much more concious of how much I move during the day. For some reason if I sit down while I'm wearing it I feel much lazier then when it's not attached to my belt.

What kind of pedometer do you have? I have been thinking about getting one but when ever I go and look at them I never know which one to buy.

I have one by Sportline, called walking advantage. It's a talking pedometer, everyonce in a while it will update me on number of steps, distance walked, total time of actually walking and calories burnt (though the calories burnt is only an estimate since everyone's metabolism is different) I really like it. I got it at Sears. The first pedometer I got was a joke, it would register steps even when I was laying down. I left it on one night and woke with over 30,000 steps, and I don't sleep walk! HTH

I bought a cheap pedometer at Walmart (around $5). It actually is very accurate. I test it out when I do my treadmill and it is usually only off a small amount of steps. I have found that wearing one does indeed make me more aware of my activity for each day. I get in at least 10,000 steps a day, and push for 12,000-14,000 a day.
