Do you think Febreeze would hurt a dog?

My little angels just decided to spray the dog with Febreeze. I asked them why and they said to make her smell pretty.....Do you think it would hurt her. I think it'll be ok, but can't decide if I should throw her in the tub just to be safe.....

The plus side is she does smell "pretty" Lavendar and Vanilla!

Emails made the rounds about Febreze killing animals years ago. If you go to snopes you can read about it.
It does say it shouldn't be used on the dog. I would bath my dog. It could burn the pets skin.

A friend of mine who has worked at a vets office for years sprays it on her 2 inside dogs when they start to smell. When she told me that I was shocked - I said you spray it right on them - and she said yes right on them.

Ok, I'll admit it......I needed a bath! The flies buzzing around me were starting to get a little out of control, and man i could clear a room if I raised my arms......

I will admit that I have sprayed my Dog a time or too. Not a lot, just a little spritz. I mentioned this to my vet and saw nothing wrong with it.

I think I'd be afraid to directly spray this on a dog...but no, I don't think it's going to hurt the dog. Just to be safe, I'd probably throw the dog in the tub...you say she needs a bath anyway, so go for it! ~Lisa

I get mine occassionally while I'm spraying. It's not hurt mine so far. Now, it might if I was rubbing it into there skin or something but I think they will be fine with a quick spritz.
