I was just reading this.......

My DH idolized him growing up.....one of the few pics we have of DH as kid, he is dressed up like him. With all the injuries he suffered through years I'm amazed that he lasted this long.

When my son was very young we lived in an apartment building. At the end of the back yard was an aprox 6 foot or higher drop off to the parking area. This area was cemented to hold it up at a straight downward drop.
I saw my son on his tricycle going fast as he could petal straight toward the drop off.
I cought him in time and asked him what the heck he was up to.
He calmly explained that he was playing Evil Knievel.
I absolutely never let him watch that again.

I remember being a kid and running my Schwinn bike with a banana seat off of jumps to be just like Evel, and I loved my Evel Kinievel motorcycle toy. He was a little crazy but fearless. I knew he had been very sick for many years. I hope he is at peace.

How old was he, and what was his cause of death? Haven't read about it yet.

He was 69. Not quite sure what he actually died of, but believe he was sick for a while.

I used to love to play with the toys when I was little.

Yes, I was sad to hear the news. My younger brother had alot of the toys and merchandise. I think one time he even dressed up as him for Halloween in the early 70's. I was shocked that he was only 69 because he looked terrible in the photo...but then I read he had been sick so no wonder he looked so bad. We really liked him...R.I.P. Evel... ~Lisa
