Wrapping up Secret Buddies

It's been a blast, but the party is almost over.

Please continue to post sent/received packages on this thread.

I have sent my December package, and recieved a great package from littlejo. I especially loved the angel ornament. So beautiful! The wax burner and the waffle bar are going to be used right away. Toooo many things to mention, but all very much appreciated. And, that was a funny story about your cat. My cat isn't sniffing the afghan anymore, but she LOVES to curl up on it. All snuggly and warm!

Thank you again for being such a great buddy!

I received my final package today....and it was AWESOME!!!!! Thank you so much Freer!!!!! The funny thing is I thought you were my buddy last month, when you mentioned in the card you sent that you had really long hair at one time and donated....then about a week later you posted the same thing in a thread...and I was like ah ha....caught you! But then someone else said they received a package from you, and I was back to square one. But I was right!!!

Well she out did herself once again, first off everything was way to pretty to open. She had made cloth sleeves for all the gifts and had tied them off with gorgeous ribbons and bows. After getting over the packaging, and taking a few pictures, I tore into them. She had made me pot holders and napkin and gave me a set of napkin holder rings. Her son made me lip balm, which is so cool. I also got nail polish, lotion, face wipes, card, magnet memo, post-its, basket with some candy....and I am sure I am missing something but what can I say....freer spoils me.

Now the best part was she sent a stocking for my DS (6) filled with presents as well. She sent him gingerbread man to assemble, band aids (how did you know we go thru those like water), wooly willy (good for our long road trip coming up), and some kid soap.

I know that we will be doing the buddy exchange again, and I will participate. But freer will always be my first, and there is always something special about your first!!!!! Thank you so much freer, you truly have been a wonderful buddy!

Yeah, Polve...after I posted about my hair, I thought....Oh, dang!!!!

I thought about deleting my post, then decided to see just how observant you are! LOL
You certainly passed that test!

The other package I sent was to littlewolf who got, shall we say, a little shortchanged.
I'm glad that threw you off for a split second!

I sent my last package last Friday. I hope that I'll hear from my buddy eventually! I'd like to know that she's okay and if she liked the last three packages....

I sure did have a great time sending the packages and, I must admit, receiving packages! I hope we do this again!!!!

Just returned from the post office where I sent off my Dec. package. Looking forward to receiving mine and finding out who my buddy is (I think I might have guessed!)

Any ideas of when we will start the next exchange? Maybe in Feb, once the holidays have past, we may be ready for gift giving again!!

I"m thinking February might be a good time to start again. Does anyone else have any input? Also, I was going to wait a while before planning much....but many of you are already asking about the next Secret Buddy Exchange.

When do you want to start?
January, February, or March?

How long should it last? Just one month (like the Gobbler Gag and the Stocking exchanges), two months, three months, or four months?

Should there be any other rules/prequisites?

Thanks for your input!

I think Feb would be good, gives people a chance to get over holiday shock. How about a monthly holiday exchange? Feb-Valentines day, march-st pattys day,april-easter etc... I think the rules last time worked pretty good for the most part. I just think if you cant hold up your end no matter what, dont join.

I think Feb. is a good month to start, giving everyone a chance to get over the holidays. I think commiting to one or two packages may be better for some. Maybe we could agree to 2 packages and then sign up again with new buddies or something? That way if someone is having problems sending their packages, they won't have to join in again. Or for those that "opt" out, their partner wouldn't miss as many packages. Or if we have another one who is unhappy with their partner, they wouldn't be "stuck" as long, lol.....(wait, I really think I was being sarcastic with that remark). Honestly, it doesn't matter to me. I LOVED it and can't wait to start again.

OH MY GOODNESS!

Jenn, I was excited as always to rip open the box when I saw it was from you. You have consistently sent the BEST boxes, really "getting" me. But you outdid yourself!! Wow, I mean I'm still sitting here teary eyed at your generosity. I loved it. Everything in that box was me. The goodies from BBW, the cute candle holder, the shelf sitter, the santa claus, the santa toothpick holder, candy, cookies, soft socks, the nutcracker(which I collect and LOVE) and the gift cards. And in a wonderful stocking and wrapped......really...thank you...thank you....thank you. My girls will be so so so excited and how very sweet of you to include them. I'm really in awe and so grateful to you. It's been a long, hard year but it's ending nicely so thank you!!!

Tammy

Hi all! Sorry I haven't posted in a Long while. I have been AWOL. My sister is fighting a difficult battle with Cancer and I haven't been on-line much.

I got my November package and it was wonderful. Thank you Secret Buddy. You always use some of my favorite celebrities as your Ship From name. Who ever you are, you are quite clever!

My November package was sent and received and my December one is headed out this week. Sorry it is a little late but other things took precedence recently.

Many thanks to my secret buddy whomever you are....I know I'll find out soon.

Happy Holidays Everyone!

I can say the exact same! I arrived home today, (after a long day at work), and am now sitting with a HUGE 9lb box of stuff that none other than Polve has sent to ME! She sent along an adorable Christmas card/picture of her son, Jax. What a cutie! Along with that a little red and green letter identifying herself. I honestly had no idea it was you!

Now to go through the box!..so most everything seems to be wraped up so pretty, with beautiful ribbons and bows! I'm not quite sure if I should open them now, or wait for Christmas..but the kids know there is one for them, so here we go!

First, a giant glass jar filled with chocolate covered peanuts! Which btw she had sent me some peanuts in one of the other packages that didn't make it past my son Sammy, so I am definitely going to make sure I get some of these! Two matching Christmas oven mitts, which are fabulous because I have been without any since we bought this house, and moved in, in July! It's one of those things you always mean to buy, but never get around to doing...my husband will be thrilled too since he does most of the dinners lately! Next, this adorable 3 tiered Christmas box in the shape/decoration of s Snowman. In each box there is a different candy, one is gourmet jelly beans, the other gourmet fruit flavored candy, and lastly red and green jelly rings! Now..an adorable bath set! It is white, and gold-it includes a bath pillow that has "Relax" stitched on it. Also has a body sponge, nail brush, loofah, and shower pouf all in a very adorable zippered case. Obviously she knew that being a mom to 3 I really needed something like this...and additionally to enjoy in the tub, 4 scented votive candles in Christmas themed holders. SO Sammy just opened a present to the kids, and it is a set of 3 Christmas CD's of Kids songs. Also says each CD has lyrics, activities, crafts, caroling books, recipes, to print from your computer. It's funny that Sammy got soooo excited over this!

I am so thrilled with everything that you got for us. I don't think I am that easy to please. You obviously put a lot of thought, and effort in to each package, and have made this a wonderfil experience for me. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, everyone!! I am sitting here in tears as I finish going through the box that Tammy/tag1114 sent to me. She went above & beyond with everything she sent to me!! As I opened the box, I had all kinds of chocolate goodies fall out at me. Digging though the box I found the following:

Santa ornament..... he is too cute
2 Santa candleholders...another candleholder that has a snowman, gingerbread man and Santa on it
Stocking shaped cookie plate
Santa pillow
Gift wrap & tags....
3 cute note pads....
Soy Candle that looks like a shaker....I have been wanting one of them BUT kept putting it back
Wallet...that was actually on my things to pick up list....lol
Tissue..... which I needed as I went through the box
Samples of different things......

Tammy, thank you does not even begin to cover how I am feeling right now. Between Freer & you, you made the Secret Buddy end off on a positive note for me!! Big hugs to both of you!!

My last package will be going out SOON! I am almost finished stuffing it with things. LOL!!

Hugs,
Debbie

I am glad you liked everything, I loved shopping for you. Sorry the last box was a little late, I couldn't make up my mind on what I wanted to send you. By the sounds of it, I made a good choice. I almost sent a box full of gourmet food, but I figured you would have enough sweets so close to Christmas. I love giving gourmet food as gifts, most people don't spend that kind of money everyday, it's nice splurging! Hope you have a wonderful Christmas!!!

You are so welcome. I am so glad you liked it. I really enjoyed doing it for you!

Even funnier, one of the candleholders(the snowman, gingerbread man, Santa)was exactly like the one I received from my buddy. I smiled so much when I received hers because I had bought yours the day before....obviously I loved it enough to buy it and then to receive it, just put a big smile on my face!
In many ways giving is so rewarding!

I received my package today...
Thanks Linnybop! You have been a great buddy!
Inside my box I found:
a really cute apron
a package of sugar cookie mix
frosting
a bottle of decorations for the cookies
a xmas tree cookie cutter
a package of Starbucks Christmas Blend coffee
a cute pair of holiday socks
wind glass charms
a wine bottle cork w/ a snowman dangling on top (I collect snowmen!)

I also received a christmas card from Linnybop with a photo of her family on it. It was great to see her, her husband and their 4 boys! (I had already seen her eldest son's prom photo in the past but it was nice to know what my buddy looks like!)

So thanks again Lynne. It is nice to have a friend in VA.
