Your favorite Christmas Carol?

What is your favorite Christmas Carol..and why?

Mine is O' Holy Night.
It moves me to tears when I hear it, it just has always reminded me of being close in Jesus presence. Whenever I feel far away from him, that song can always remind me of where I need to be. "Fall on your knees".

I'm in total shock, I thought I was the ONLY one that felt the same way as you. When I hear the lyrics Fall On Your Knees, I LOSE IT !!I can't help but tear up, It kind of like a wake up call in order for me to see the things I've done wrong and need to improve on them. This is nice to know someone else feels the same and hears the same in those lyrics as I have for years.

BTW, I heard a song the other night on 99 Lite Mix about a girl named Maria and a bird with a broken wing, It had to be the next to the prettiest song Ive heard. I wish I knew what it was called. Anyone Know ?

I'm a kid at heart. "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer" and "Santa Claus Is Comng To Town" are my two favorites. Maybe they are classified Christmas "songs", not carols. I dunno.

I feel the same way about O Holy Night.
I also really like Away in a Manger
But I really love them all.
I miss going to the church I grew up going to.
On Christmas Eve we would sing Silent Night in English and then in German.

I have heard the song about Maria and the bird but don't know what it is.
Maybe someone here will be able to tell us!

I like Manheim Steamrollers earlier CDs.

I JUST LOVE CHRISTMAS AND EVERYTHING ABOUT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love "Deck The Halls" - always gets me in such a decorating mood!

I also love the "Alleleujah Chorus", "O Holy Night", "Joy To The World", "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" and "Do You Hear What I Hear?"

Man, I love the rest of them too! Around this time of year I just can't get enough of listening to them all.

Do They Know It's Christmas? by Band Aid
Last Christmas by Wham

O Come, O Come Immanuel
Mary Did You Know (Kathy Mattea version)

Those 2 give me shivers

A non-carol Christmas song I can't through the season without is *Grandma Got Run Over By a Reinder* - can't help but smile whenever I hear it.

A song I hate, and hear it at least once an hour on the *all Christmas music, all the time* radio station is the one that has the repeated line *last Christmas I gave you my heart, but the very next day you gave it away. This year to save me from tears I'll give it to someone special*. Ugh!

I also like a lot of the pop Christmas songs, especially *Rocking Around the Christmas Tree*.

My all time favorite is Carol of the Bells. Any way.. But my favorite version is with Trans-Siberian Orchestra and Metallica. I have it in my car and the kids even like it.

Last night at a Christmas square dance the caller used lots of Christmas songs and played Christmas Carols inbetween dances.
At the very end he had us all hold hands in a big circle and we sang Silent Night.
It was almost like being in church.
Square dancers are so much like a church family anyway and evryone wsa so moved.
What a great bunch of friends we have in square dancers!

Mary Did You Know?
What Child is This?

Fun one:
I Want a Hippopotomus for Christmas (I sing this all the time at home and my teenage kids just groan and beg me to stop ~ tee hee!)

Zoobie - my son and I have a bet going on that song. He has to pay me $5 if I can get him to sing it by the end of the day. Needless to say I have it constantly playing in my home office and I am walking around the house singing it. I know he'll crack before long.

I just called and left my dd a voice mail of the song.

They think I'm nuts - but they love me.

I don't know how to link, but if you do a google search, search The Gift Aselin Debison.

There you will find the version you are thinking of, both the live song that you can play, and the lyrics written out for you. I like this version much better also.
