I am going to my company christmas party tonight. I am wearing a pretty plain sleeveless black dress and black shoes. What color pantyhose should I wear?

I would wear black, but I suppose you could wear nude as well.

sheer black is what I would wear...second choice would be off black... very last would be black black

I wore a black dress with black shoes a few years ago and I found Leggs Silken Mist pantyhose in Jet Black looked great! They are kind of sheer, with a silky look to them.

I say nude/suntan.

I think the black with the textured lines in them look really good. Some have other patterns on them but I like the lines.

Actually, I disagree. Black hose and black tights made a huge comeback last year. It's nude hose that looks dated now.

Pantyhose are old fashioned and no longer in style. Most women wear tights, pants, leggings or go bare legged. Take a look at People magazine or a morning news show to see what people are wearing. Pantyhose sometimes look outdated and make you look old like when people put eyeliner under their eye.
If you want to wear them it's a personal choice but you don't need them.

I will be wearing a black Holiday dress to a party tonight and I will be wearing black pantyhose. I don't feel that it will look old fashioned, I think it will look classy. I actually cannot imagine wearing tights or leggings with a dressy dress. I am really not intersted in looking like a teenager at this point in my life. I guess its really a matter of what you are comfortable wearing...

try on a couple different shades and take a digital pic of yourself and see how they look!

I was watching a fashion show (maybe "What Not To Wear"? - don't remember which one for sure) but they said you should always match your stockings to your shoe color.

I would wear nude, because I don't like dark legs and natural arms. Makes your arms look too white...

Oh My Gosh !!! When did eyeliner under the eye go out of date??? I quit wearing eyeliner a while back but didn't know it went out of date like that. Just every great once in a while when DH and I go out, I will wear a little eyeliner under my eyes to make them look a little bigger. I mainly stopped wearing b/c I hated the way my mascara and eyeliner always ran when my contacts would bother my eyes. ACK !!!

No, really! So you missed a trend, it happens! Buy yourself a magazine like Glamour or Cosmo or Allure and take a look. Eyeliner is now smudged into the lashline of your upper lashes. I see it smudged into lower lashes sometimes, but it is definitely not drawn in a line under the lashes anymore.

Don't feel bad I wore it up until last year under my eye until my sister the beautician pointed it out to me. I then started looking around and now I wear it on the upper lid smudged in like ponted out above. It makes me look at least ten years younger than when worn under the eye.

Maybe this one depends a lot on the wearer? I need to smudge a little bit into the bottom corner of each eye because I have very small eyes and it holds up better then powder eyeshadow -- makes my eyes look deeper set and a bit larger?!

Durn, I need a consultation with a beautician! But, last time I had the lady at the makeup counter at Dillard's do me, I looked like a raccoon so it kind of scares me from trying that again!

I live in NJ and work at a salon(so I pretty much see it all) - and I can tell you that around here (metro NY, Philly) eyeliner is still IN (only on the top usually - to the point that some women have it tatooed on) and nude hose (definitely NOT colored) is IN.
