I know all about the Salvation Army Angel Tree and so on. My question is, what about homeless shelters at Christmas? Does anyone know how they handle Christmas? I was just wondering if they plan for kids on Christmas or what. With all the Polly Pocket coupons that we have all been getting , and all the good deals, where could we donate and be sure that kids will have Christmas? It breaks my heart to think of a child having nothing come Christmas morning. I know alot of shelters are strictly men, but surely there are some that have children. What do yall think? What could we do?

Most of the organized gift drives feed their donations into the various shelters and programs across your region. However, I'm sure it's possible to make your donation directly to a shelter.....maybe a battered women's shelter (although they can be difficult to find for obvious reasons) or Ronald McDonald house or something like that. - whatever your area has. In the past, I've just called up the place and made my offer, and they've been more than happy to have me come on down and drop it off. I bring my boys because I want them to see all walks of life.....and be thankful for what they have.

You might want to consult with your church, place of employment or a club you belong to in possibly contacting one of your local shelters to seek out their needs. My organization will provide & serve up a lunch for the local shelter.
