Years ago my china just sat on a chine hutch. But after getting tired of dusting them off because they just collected dust I finally put them in my cabinets. We use them every night now. The only down fall you cannot put them in the microwave other than that....I love them.

The only china that we ever had was a set that was given to us by my aunt. She got it as a wedding gift and had gotten divorced... gave us the china as a wedding gift. I never used it because of the story behind it. So, a couple of years ago and with her permission, I sold the set and made a mint on eBay. With the money, I purchased some antique stoneware to complete a set that we had inherited... and YES, we use the stoneware!!! |

I did register for formal china for my wedding over a year ago and haven't used it once! I got 10 place settings, but I did return 2. I figured 8 would probably be enough and I wanted the money for a few other things.... Now I wish I had returned all of it! But, I was thinking of using it the other day. I need to have a nice, small dinner party and drag it out! Kim |

My "China" is a set my Gramma gave me as well. She had the entire Blue Willow set. When I stayed overnight as a little girl she would always use them. We had grilled cheese, pancakes and more on those dishes. When we were married she said from day one she knew exactly what to get me. When we opened those dishes my heart skipped a beat. It was the most perfect gift. I use them as she did. She always told me, use your best things for the people you love the most. So I use them at least once a week.

Well I did get Lenox China and Waterford glasses because my Mother n law got me started. We used it for a while when we were first married and I wll use if for small gatherings no more than 8 people because it's hand wash only. Today there are so many beautiful everyday dishes that are dishwasher safe that I really don't know if I would do it again. A lot of money for so little use. It did make for a beautiful Thanksgiving table and I bought really fancy napkins and also have gold flatware so it does make it feel extra special.

We have lovely Lenox china and crystal in a Queen Anne cherry hutch. We use it several times a year when we eat in the formal dining room (mostly holidays). At $100s/place setting and $40/stem, it's an awfully expensive decoration. I'm older and wiser now, though. ![]() cj/
