Ice, Ice Baby

I'm in Iowa. Lots of ice. My car is outside-cause my garage is my shopping warehouse!-and it's covered in ice. Even the tires had ice on them!! My son took my scraper with him because he had to go to work-I can stay put. I decided to warm up the car while I tried to chip some ice off the sidewalks. I have a GREAT way to get ice off the windows. When the car gets warm enough you can partially roll down the windows and knock the ice off. It didn't work right when I started the car but after it warmed up. Then you roll it down a bit further and knock off the next row, etc... All four windows are perfectly clean without one bit of scraping!!! It the ice is thick enough and you roll down the window a bit the ice stays put and the window goes down so you can just push out the ice. I'm so impressed with myself!! lol It doesn't take much to make me happy!

We are in Indiana.......... probably moving this way. It has been raining all day (just above freezing) but no ice yet. I read about the ice storm in OK, and I guess it is one of their worst as they have never had this many homes without power. Even the Tulsa airport was without power for 11 or 12 hours. Feel bad for all those people.

I saw on the news earlier that you all up in Northern Indiana are supposed to be getting it. Stay safe and warm to everyone getting hit.

Luckily we won't get anything but rain here in Central Indiana.

I live in Oklahoma, many are still without power, we only lost ours for about 8 hours on Monday. Lots of trees down, some areas also had no water. We are in for more ice this morning. Got to go to work, will check back in later.

That ice storm has been really HORRIBLE and I really feel for everyone suffering thru it!
My daughter went thru one a few years ago and had to stay with relatives for several days because they had no power.
I am in Kentucky and yesterday the rain stopped, the sun came out and it was 71 degrees!
Today it is cold and rainy.
The weather has just been CRAZY!!!

We are supposed to get 4 inches of snow on Friday on top of the ice we already had. It's taking a long time to get electricity back on for alot of people, many can't get gas for their cars, grocery stores are closed because no electricity, roads blocked off from fallen trees, no traffic lights, there are shelters set up for those without electricity. When we lost our electricity on Monday they told me 8 days before we could get our power back, we were lucky, they got ours done, I am assuming because our whole town was without electricity. Most of our area has their electricity back, OKC and Tulsa are not so lucky. We did have a little heat, only because our house was built in 1930 and even though we have central heat/AC we also still have the gas heater in the wall in the bathroom, which we make sure works on a regular basis. I am seriously considering putting in a gas fireplace/heater in the living room where the original gas hookup is from where they used to heat the house prior to the central heat/AC put in. I had it capped off by the gas company 8 years ago when we moved in.
