A lot of us have lost a family member this year?

I can't believe how many of us have suffered a loss this year! It seems like more than usual, or maybe I'm just noticing since I am one this time.

Please add your loss to the post and maybe we can all say a special prayer this holiday season for each other.

I lost my Dad on July 4th.

My aunt passed this past Sunday December 9. She was never married and didn't have any children. We are still trying to figure out a way to pay for her burial. She wanted her body donated to science but the hospital couldn't find anyone to take her.

I agree there seems to be a lot of health problems or deaths in everyones family I talk with.

My grandpa passed away in Feb so it will be our first Christmas without him. My DH and I also lost our very good friend in Sept. He was 40 and died in his sleep. It was so shocking.

My husband passed away very unexpectedly on Dec. 20, 2006. I've thought I was doing pretty good, but the closer the year anniversary gets the more weepy I get. My Mother-in-law passed away in 2004, my Mom in 2005, then my husband in 2006. I am so paranoid that something will happen to either me or my DD before 2007 is over.

Brother in law to suicide in Oct. That was a tough one.

Years ago before my Dad passed we were talking about getting older and regrets and things. I asked him what was the hardest thing about getting older. I expected the usual, aging mind and body complaint but his answer has stayed with me as I get older.

He said "The hardest part about getting older is having to bury the people you love."

And I agree.

My beloved dad died on Fathers day. He turned 65 on Friday, and I always have a big dinner/cake for his on father's day. When he didnt show, I sent DH down to check on him. He was dead in bed. Never had to deal with a funeral myself before.
Also lost out beloved dog of 14 years to hip dysplaysia in October, and DH los his job. Crappy year all around. I am looking forward to a new year, and a mental new start.

Borrowed this from a poster on HGP.......

I'm Spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this Year
I see the countless Christmas trees,
Around the world below.
With tiny lights, like heaven's stars,
Reflecting on the snow.
The sight is so spectacular,
Please wipe away that tear.
For I'm spending Christmas,
With Jesus Christ this year.
I hear the many Christmas songs,
That people hold so dear.
But the sounds of music can't compare,
With the Christmas choir up here.
For I have no words to tell you,
The joy their voices bring.
For it is beyond description,
To hear the angels sing.
I can't tell you of the splendor,
Or the peace here in this place.
Can you just imagine Christmas,
With our Savior, face to face?
I'll ask Him to light your spirit,
As I tell Him of your love.
So then pray one for another,
As I lift you eyes above.
Please let your hearts be joyful,
And let your spirit sing.
For I'm Spending Christmas in Heaven,
And I'm walking with the King.

I lost my father-inlaw- in May, my maternal grandmother in July, and my Aunt in Sept.

He said "The hardest part about getting older is having to bury the people you love."
I think your Dad had this right.

I can't even imagine losing someone to suicide.

A 19 year old kid down the street jumped off a bridge last week. I can not imagine the loss and devastation you must feel, because I feel it and we don't even know them.

So sorry for everyone's loss and lets look forward to a healthy year ahead.

I also lost a loved one this year. On Oct. 7th my step-sister Lindsey was one of 6 that was gunned down in the shooting in Crandon Wisconsin where an off duty officer was jealous of his ex girlfriend. She was 14, turned 15 on Nov 5th.
