Holiday sweaters and garb

Holiday embroidered, emblazoned, beaded, baubled, and jingled sweaters, sweatshirts, and shirts - do you wear them?

Same question for Mom or Grandma sweatshirts and such? Do you or would you wear them?

I have one long-sleeved t-shirt that says "Bah Humbug".

I have one long sleeve shirt that my mom bought me that is green with some embroidery around the neck that is a bit 'Christmas-y', but that is the extent of my Holiday garb.

We don't do holiday themed clothing here......I might wear my favorite red sweater more often close the holidays, but that's about it......

I have one holiday themed sweater. It is a dark green cashmere cardigan with a few angora snowflakes.

I do own several pairs of Christmas and Halloween socks. I like crazy socks.

I do have a few pair of silly Christmas socks, but no one can see them.

I teach school and wear them daily. The kids a school seem to enjoy it. My own children think I look like a walking calendar!

No, I don't own any holiday attire. However, a friend of mine has a gorgeous Christmasy sweater that I would wear if she was generous enough to give it to me Its creamy white on top then fades into a silver then the silver fades into red. It doesn't scream Christmas, but every time I see thats what I think of!

I have one red fleece sweater/jacket with small santa and reindeer on it.

I wear it because it is toasty warm and I am always cold.
That is my only holiday item.
I see people in them for every single holiday of the year?

I work in the children's department of the public library, so I wear them a lot right now. The kids love it. Otherwise I would never wear them.

Lightbulb Well

Well, I am wayyyy to frugal to have any clothing that I can't wear but a handful of days out of the year. Naturally, I voted no on the poll.

I have a few. But they are not Gawdy or to frilly. I basically stick with snowman, I can wear them all winter. I only have 2 "christmas" shirts. (one with a deer and christmas lights, and a jean one that has Snowman and Santa's across the bottom!)

I work in 1st grade, the kids do seem to love my shirts. As do most of the teachers!

One of my favorite ladies that also happens to be a teacher (!), wears them every day in December, it seems. She really must have an entire closet of holiday sweaters.

I enjoy seeing her and others wear them but not for me!

I just wear the same ol', same ol'. Boring me.

I do have a few tops that are holiday...but not too much

I have one black and white checked blouse that has embroidered Christmas ornaments on each side of the front. It is not gaudy and it's actually quite pretty. I get lots of compliments when I wear it. As for the Grandma/Mom shirts...NO WAY. You won't see me wearing anything like that.

Personally, I used to wear what-I-now-consider-to-be-gaudy holiday sweaters, sweatshirts, and denim shirts when I was Mom to young kids....and when I weighed more than I do now. Nowadays, with older kiddos, I wouldn't be caught dead in some of the same things I used to wear. So, I wasn't sure how to answer my poll!

I had to chuckle when I saw this thread! Just the other day my mother who is 80 years old asked me if I had a Christmas sweater because she has several and would be glad to give me one of hers! lol I politely declined because like so many of you I consider them something older women wear. I guess I'm approaching that category - lol!

I do agree that you see them on teachers a lot! When I volunteered for my daughter's kindergarten class, her teacher had several holiday sweaters, and the kids just absolutely loved seeing her in them. My favorite was one she wore in the fall that had pumpkins and a scarecrow on it - it was really cute.

I do have one red fleece top that has three snowflakes embossed on the red that I wear a lot in winter, and I also like crazy socks. I try hard not to buy any holiday themed clothes as Christmas gifts, though. Why give someone Christmas socks, sweatshirts, etc. on Christmas when the next day Christmas is over? They will just be put away until the next year, and by then they might be forgotten. I'd rather give a clothing gift the person can wear right now.

I wear them to work. The kids like them, and at my previous school, I could wear jeans the week before Christmas if I wore them. We would all get brighter and brighter as the week went on lol.

I would love to wear them but they are always long-sleeved, too heavy and HOT!
I can't stand to be "over dressed", I just get too hot!
Even a vest is heavy.
One of these days I am going to make my own...........but not today!

The only Christmas shirt I had was a gift. It was a dark blue sweatshirt with a fake white collar sewn on. It had a very large picture printed on it that covered the entier front of the shirt that was a Christmas tree, some kids and presents and I don't remember what else. but I do remember the thing glowed in the dark. Not kidding either, all the snow in the picture glowd in the dark.

I've also received some other sweatshirts that had fake collars, lace, buttons, doillies, holes cut in the with patches, and anything else, that for some unknown reason, someone thought that it would be a good idea to glue or sew onto a perfectly good plain sweatshirt. We cringe when Grandma talks about another craft show because we know that means we're all getting another lovely sweatshirt for Christmas.
