anyone's family member worked up for this or alzheiemers?? what did they do?? thanks

When I told my grandmas doctor that I thought she had this
He read off like a list of things
blue car
red crayon
gold dress
basically he thought if she could remember those she wasn't that bad
yeah right
but we knew what was going on
He gave her ativan
and the medicine to help slow it?
but that didn't seem to help
so we just dealt with it

Eventually this test will be given at some point during the Dementia diagnosis. It's called the MMSE and this article breaks it down into what all the test is about.

I attend the Annual Regional Alzheimer's Gathering each year with my mom. She doesn't have it, we go for information's sake on behalf of another family member.

This is exactly correct. My mother had Alzheimers and this was the first test she was given. She did pretty well the first time she was given it, but as the disease progressed, she got worse and worse. Another thing they had her do was to draw a clock and draw the hands at a certain time. As her disease progressed, she couldn't even draw the clock. It's very sad watching this.
