I am just crazy with exhaustion. DD had surgery Tues and we are having bleeding episodes from one of the sites. I can't stand when they do day surgery and send you home to fetch with stress!! The darn blood just pours out we put compression and it stops until another darn episode.. I keep washing Floor rugs towels clothes etc and she gets nervous that she is going to bleed to death. I told her we will call 911 if we don't calm it down after 5 minutes which we have.

Poor thing! What type of surgery did she have?

I hope things settle down for her soon.

It's a vascular type surgery very complicated for a rare condition. Just a plain old nuisance since birth.

Thanks so much. The stress for me and my husband is seeing her have to endure so much. If I could flip a magic wand I would give anything to swith with her. As a parent it just kills you to see your kid suffer. I will say though that she is a real trooper and I can't believe she has the personality she has with what she has to go through everyday. It is very scary for her to see blood just pouring out. I feel terrible because I feel emotionally shut down tonight. I won't even answer the telephone which I am sure is pissing people off but I just don't feel like repeating over and over. As I said I am needing a vent session.

Is this bleeding typical from that type of surgery? I think (I mean I know) I would be so upset and stressed over it all. Bless you all. Do what you got to do to get through this----don't even worry about the phone or what other people think. Your family is your priority. I will keep you all in my prayers. (((HUGS)))

I'm so sorry for all this stress for you, and that your little girl has to endure so much.

Poor kid! I've dealt with profusely weeping sores on a relative that would not heal, so I know this is frustrating, but blood is really alarming. Could you dress her in dark clothes, lay out lots of towels, and let her know just how much blood is in the human body, and how we're able to make more as it's lost? In the absence of a ready cure, matter of fact information can be good, or at least, the best you can get.

ETA, you probably already know this, but peroxide works really well on fresh blood stains. On something like carpet, you may need to repeat a day or so later. Just pour, let it foam, blot, and repeat until it looks better.

I wish I were closer and could give ya hand....It's stressful when things are going on with our kids that we can't just fix......I will be keeping you and your family in our prayers, and Vent away!

Thanks everyone. She is16 and bored out of her mind because she can't go to school and there is only so much tv. We go to surgeons tommorow for a followup appt. It has been a tough few years but we will endure as there are people in the Hospital for months at a time or who never make it home so just trying to count the blessings we have. I really appreciate everyones kind thoughts!
