Question $499 bracelet sold for $11.61 on ebay

DD just won a tungsten bracelet on ebay for $11.61 that "supposedly" has a retail value of $499.

That sounds wayyyyyy too good to be true to me

But the seller has over 400 feedback with 100% positive.

But why in the world would this auction sell so cheap with no reserve

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure why but I do know from experience jewelry does not sell on ebay. But I used a reserve so ... not sure what happened there.

Well good for your DD!

I just don't understand why people don't use reserves, unless the seller had 0$ invested into.............

Well, I guess she was at the right place at the right time - He sells these Buy It Now for $129 - Crazy good luck! You know I'm going to keep an eye on his auctions!

P.S. Looks like a legit seller.

I looked at the completed auctions, and some do go for cheap like that. I agree that she is lucky! Perhaps they want more feedback/word of mouth out there?

Some sellers use those low priced items to lure traffic to their stores. Maybe you'll look at the auction, maybe bid, but probably look at what else they have in their stores most of which is Buy It Now. They expect to loose on those products, to bring people in for the higher priced items. All a calculated strategy, or a new inexperienced seller (personally I think they know what they're doing by the look of the other auctions).

Congratulations on the great deal though!
