what could this be?

For the past 2 days (since Sunday) I have had pain in my lower right jaw. I thought it was maybe something to do w/ my tooth, but one, my mouth doesn't hurt AT ALL inside or when I checw, and two, my right neck is hurting (throbbing, not shooting) behind my ear, down to my neck, and up to my head. When I lightly press a spot near my ear (on my neck) I can tell that's where the pain orginates. sometimes the sides swell and it hurts to swallow. The pain lessens when I take motrin or advil, but doesn't go away completely. What could it be?

YES, I know I should go to the doctor, but I can't right now.

Could be TMJ. That can be very painful!. If the pain doesn't subside I would go to the Dr. or Dentist . That is also where your adenoids and your lymph nodes are .

Hope ya feel better!

It could be any one of a couple dozen things. Sinus, ear, bacterial infection, viral infection, dental, shoulder, pinched nerve, etc, etc, etc. Have you been scratched by a cat? Cat scratch fever will cause those symptoms. It sounds like whatever caused it, you now have a problem with your lymph nodes. A trip to the doctor is the best best but if you really can't go, take an anti-inflammatory medicine like ibuprofen and gargle with salt water. If this lasts longer than three days, you need to see a doctor whether you can or not.
