You really need at least one more controller and nunchuck. Our kids and adults alike love the Monkey Ball Banana Blitz and the younger kids can play along with that game. My kids will be receiving Mario Galaxy and Zack and Wiki and those look like excellent games. If you search for games on-line check out some of the game rating sites to get an idea of how good the games are. They normally hit the nail on the head with ratings. Nothing is worse than spending 50.00 on a game and it really stinks.

Gamestop had a thing yessterday where you could buy the system and get it sometime before Jan 25th without store jumping or paying the outragous prices of the people that will buy and inflate the price t sell to others <up to $700 I've seen ACK!> anyway got my voucher yesterday and gave hubby I mean Santa a BIG hug when he got home! I told him I was Wii-lly happy about my Wii!

Our kids are getting a Wii for Christmas. We bought Wii Play in addition to the Wii based on advice from the LTS board. It comes with more games *and* a controller for $50. I also bought a marble game from Circuit City on clearance for $16. THat's the only game I'm buying right now since they'll have several to choose from between the Wii itself and Wii Play. Selena

I second buying Wii Play($50). It is usually packed with a second remote which makes it a great deal since the remote alone is $40. We love Mario Party 8, it's my 3 y.o.'s favorite. I would recommend getting a game pass from Blockbuster if there's one near you. You can have one game out at a time for a month and swap as often as you'd like. We found that trying games out before we bought them has saved us a LOT of money. Sometimes a game you think you will like really isn't so great once you try it. Also, you will need batteries, lots of them unless you get the remote chargers. Have fun, Renee |

Buy Wii Play. It has a controller and a set of games (pool and a game like duck hunt) and it's the same cost as a game normally. Also, need 2 numchcuks and a rescharge station (or you'll go thru batteries like crazy) I have a 6 and 8 year old and they like: My Sims, Wii Sports, Wii Play. We have mario cart and it's too complicated for my 6 year old. DS (the 8 year old) likes Rattatoiee but it's way to hard for the 6 year old. They are getting a bunch more for xmas

We got a Wii last year and all love it. We have Monkey Ball that's good for all our kids (4, 10, almost 13). We also all like to play Mario Party 8 together or they can play on their own. We are getting Mario Galaxy as a family gift for Christmas this year. We also got Mater Nation for our 4 year old son for Christmas this year. He's a huge Cars fan. Our 4 year old also enjoys the Wii Sports. When we first got it he would be in there playing it and just cracking up. We have Cooking Mama which is good for everyone but the 4 year old. He tries to play but it's hard for him. We also have Zelda, which my husband and the two older kids play. It's too hard for the 4 year old and I have no interest in it. peapie |

Amazon.com: Wii Charge Station: Video Games Might not be able to get it in time for Chiristmas, but you could get it as a belated Christmas gift. It's 30.00 bucks. You can go through $30.00 in batteries pretty fast. My husband bought one a few months ago and it's already paid for itself.

My Wii is buried and kids are about. What kind of batteries do I need? I forgot all about that! We didn't get the charging station yet, but I am sure they will want to play it tomorrow. Thanks!

AA batteries - each remote takes 2 of them. My son went to see Santa yesterday, and told him he wanted "Wii games and a remote charger". So DH and I had to (gasp!) go to Walmart and get a charger (it is something we had talked about getting anyway). DS went with us, and he was none the wiser, LOL. He will be thrilled!
