Hmmm... I have no clue. I think you can hit the * and have things to upper case. Any chance you were accidentally holding that down? I signed up for a Yahoo group about Tracfones this year and saved a ton of $ on minutes using the hot tips I learned there. I highly recommend doing that if you like the idea of saving $ on your minutes! |

They apparently run specials every so often for certain zip codes on their website. I purchased a C139 and Double Minutes for Life combo package for $14.99 from their website. WalMart has a similar deal, but the DMFL comes pre-loaded into the phone. Online, the card was separate, so I loaded it into DS's W370. I actually ordered several of those packages and loaded the DMFL cards into three family phones, and then sold the C139's on eBay for $12/ea. That made my DMFL card cost $3/ea (they are normally $49.99). They also had a deal for some zip codes where you could get a pink C139 and a 60 unit for free when you ordered a 60 unit card. That meant for $20, I got 120 units. Since the phones had DMFL cards loaded into them, those 120 units became 240 units. I also had bonus codes to add when I loaded the 60 unit cards that got 60 free bonus minutes. So, each 60 unit card gave me 180 minutes. In other words, for $20, I got 360 minutes and a free pink C139. They sell for about $5 on eBay, so the net will be 360 units for $15...so... .041 cents per minute. Not bad, 'eh? |

LOL! I used to think I was doing well before I encountered those groupies. They put me to shame. I actually put four of the 60 unit cards on DS's phone. OH - and I forgot to mention that there is/was a 100 unit bonus code that worked with the DMFL card. So... I spent $55 on the DMFL code and four 60 unit cards. By the time I sold off the black C130 for $12 and will sell the pink ones for about $10, total, that's $55 - 22 = $33... And when all was said and done, because I activated online and got 20 units, I had about 1020 units for my $33... and that gave him 18 months worth of airtime, as well. He's good through June '09. I assume that being a teen, he'll run out of minutes before his time expires! lol |

I'm not sure what type of tracphone you are using..but on mine, when you are creating a message, you have to hit the menu button. There you will see different options, you have to scroll through those options...(mine show iTAP English, iTAP French, iTAP LA Spanish, TAP English, Tap French, Tap LA Spanish, Numeric, and Symbol) You have to change to what ever option you want everytime you change from all cap to lower case. Also have to change when you want a symbol such as ?./ etc. So for example, if you start a sentence, you have to go to the option that gives you all caps...type the first letter, then go back to the options and select lower case. It's really a pain...I'm not sure if there is an easier way to do it (or to explain it for that matter..lol) HTH |
