I didn't vote because I'm somewhere between as soon as the ball drops and the wee hours. LOL

This year we're letting the kids have friends over. (8 yr old DD and 9 yr old DS) The swim team they are on is having a pitch/open swim in from 6-8, then we'll come home and have about 10 'big' kids total. We'll also have the 1 and 2 yr olds I babysit over night most likely. Should be a fun night-especially since it's only the day after DD's bday party and she's having 4 friends spend the night on the 30th.

I'm going to need a drink (or lots) on New Years Day after everyone is gone.

My next door neighbors always have a big blow out for his birthday, and this year it will be even bigger as it's his 50th. DH and I will take turns going next door as well as some of them coming over here to play the Wii

I'm up anyway cause it's quiet cause the kids are asleep but watching the ball drop isnt special to me. We dont party or drink, either. Unfortunatly my husband has to work that night and adult sit the people that dont know when enough booze is enough. and has to drive home with any that doesnt think their too boozed up to drive. so not really my special time of the year.

Ball drops at 10pm here. Different time zone. I might make it to see the ball drop... Otherwise, it's off to sleep whenever my eyes decide they can't stay open any longer!

We are going out for the second year in a row.
Maybe going thru our second childhoods!
We don't drink and are going to a pretty calm party of mostly our square dance friends.
We will have a lot of fun and great company but nothing wild and crazy!
We will probably get home around 2:00 since it is an hour's drive away.

Both my sweetie and I will be working until the wee hours. We work in a casino and for NYE it is "all hands on deck".

It has it's good and it's bad.

We have a core group of coworkers that we have worked with for over 15 years and we always do a little group cheer and hugs at midnight. (that should be fun this year with me having a couple cracked ribs)

And of course there are the drunks that believe everyone wants to play kissy face with them just because it's the holiday. YUK But I have become quite adept at dodging that.

We will have several of our big money players in the house by invitation which will keep me hopping as I sign on the larger slot jackpots and my sweetie works IT so he has to be sure the new date isn't a problem for the system.

We have to stay until the crowd thins and heads to their rooms and then we will do the half hour drive home where we will take care of animals, share a shot of some of Kentucky's best moonshine(Christmas gift) and crawl into our beddie by.

At least that's the plan, and we all know if you want to hear God laugh, tell him your plan.

I am a nightowl by nature, so I will be up. I think it's something about all the kids being asleep, I just feel like late night is my time...

We typically stay up and play games with the girls until midnight when we share champagne and the girls share sparkling cider.

But this year oldest dd has been asked to babysit at youngest dds best friends house and the parents invited youngest dd over to play with said best friend.

However, the parents made it clear that they do not want to drive our kids home since they will have been drinking and invited our girls to stay the night. Oldest dd does not want to stay the night at youngest dds best friends house and youngest dd doesn't want to stay since it's a holiday, she wants to come home, so we'll have to go pick them up about 1:30 or 2AM (about 12 minutes away).

So, we are childless and now clueless as to what we will do. We're talking about going out to dinner, but beyond that -- probably just wait until it's time to pick them up!! We're so boring.

Growing up my parents were always depressing about another year passing by and where is the time going. So I now have New Years eve parties and the more the merrier for me. I go all out decorating and take the usual self timer shot of everyone at midnight. A lot of fun instead of dwelling.

We usually have a party every New Year's Eve, but have decided not to do one this year. We are going out to a hibachi grill w/ a bunch of friends, and then back to my best friend's house for a while. My goal is to be home and in my pj's before midnight. I guess I'm getting old.......
