What exactly is this person doing that is against forum rules? How is someone getting attention when we don't know who it is giving the star rating. The way I read the rating instructions, if this person were to always give people one star, that might be considered retaliation because their posts would be .... oh, what is the word .... unspeakably dismal?

I don't know who it is and I don't care, but I do find it odd how it appears to be bothering you ....

I have said this many, many times - if MC would make IPs visible again, most of the mean crap would disapper quickly. Apparently, MC is okay with multiple names, and the chaos that occasionally occurs because of it.


How do I rate a thread?
You may find a small menu on thread pages which allows you to 'rate this thread' with a number between 1-5.

Why not make it so that the OP can see who rated the thread, kind of like with REP points. Some people didn't know you could see who reps you and were using it as a tool to get back at people....heheheh, back fired on 'em.

I still don't know what ya'll are talking about on rating a thread with stars.( And to tell the truth Might be good I don't know ).... But can someone tell me whats the problem with giving a thread a 1 star ? Is it ( from what I'm understanding about it ) just about the same as Rep Points ? If you like a thread you give stars if U dont U can either pass on it or rate it 1 star same as rep points right ? If one likes it give rep points if not pass on it or give less or Neg points.

Talk about being out of the loop with this stuff.

I joined back in 2002 and have been away for a while. Frankly, I was puzzled by the REP points and had no idea what that meant nor did I care about the stars----don't even notice them. I read the topic if it interests me.

I would say that these two little tools obvioulsy cause more problems then they are worth so I would say DO AWAY WITH THEM

YES, I agree. OMG, what a day it has been here today......the kids decided they needed to "joke" with each other, so one shut the pantry door on the other, so the "other" pushed the first one....right into/onto the dishwasher, which had the door open drying the dishes.....OMG, what a DISASTER. Then went to get DS new glasses to the tune of $200. This thread has me LMAO, and for that I am SO GRATEFUL....what a year 2007 has turned out to be.
