Question Does Anyone Here Own a Trikke? Need opinions

Does anyone on here own a Trikke or know of anyone who does? See TRIKKE 3-point Carving Vehicles if you're wondering what I'm talking about.

My husband wants one of these and there are no dealers near us and we'd really like to know if it gives a good workout like it claims. DH has bad knees from old football injuries and this is supposed to be easy on the knees.

So if you know anything about these, I'd appreciate any opinions. Thanks!!

To answer your question - I don't know anyone who ones one, sorry. However, I watched the video. It looks like an expensive toy that won't get used much to me, but that's just me and how it would work in our family if we were to get one.

I would make sure he has a place to ride it. It tooks like it would require super huge sidewalks where no one minds if you are swerving back and forth or deserted roadways. A bike path that isn't used much by others might work, but using it on a bike or jogging path or traveled road where you run the risk of swerving in front of a bunch of people would be pretty rude IMHO.

Exactly what I'm thinking!! I just don't want it to end up in the basement after the 'fun' wears off. (which usually happens with just about every type of exercise equipment he gets). He'd have a good place to ride so that won't be a problem. I'd just like some unbiased opinions from someone who actually owns one and not a 'paid' spokesperson.

Thanks for your imput nighowlrn -- I'm thinking right along with ya!!

For that kind of money, he could get a year gym membership. Make a deal - if he goes to the gym three times a week for a year, he can get the funny bike thing.

Hi Mom
Am 60 years young, have bad knees, a bad back, a triple by-pass, aneurism by-pass and am often called "Lucky" I own a T12 Trikke, daughter and son have a T8 each, so I might be classed as being biased on the side of Trikkes. Compare the price of 4 years of Gym Membership.....where the gym supplies fresh air free, friendship and fun while masquerading as a fitness machine.
There are a few forums (forii?) available. TRIKKE IT OUT! - Trikke Talk Web Forum | TrikkeTalk.com is one. Browse through, and you will probably find a "User" near you. Hope the addiction gets to you.

Thanks Joe. So it doesn't hurt your knees and it's not sitting in your basement gathering dust? Thanks for the website. We'll check them out. There are no dealerships near us, so he's looking at buying in Florida.

Honestly?
I am Not a spammer or a plugger. I just enjoy my Trikke and guide others to make their decision.

I use Firefox and "GMail" which has an Alert "search engine" that lets me know of any Web Posts for Trikke. If anyone needs help with the machine, then, if the site warrants it, I put in my 2 cents worth.
Have had a read through the Posts on this Forum and find they are quite interesting, just hope this idea can come over here.
Yep..Zippered Phoenix is me.

I figured as much. I am just amazed our forum triggered your search engine. I work for the US Government and one of my roles is to assure health care providers adhere to the life safety code provisions. I use Google alerts to message me when any fire in a health care facility occurs anywhere in the world. It is a great internet feature.

Welcome - I hope you stick around!. We could use a point of view from another country. Go check out the Election forum ; )

I've been to Australia, to the Sidney side, once; my oldest just returned from exploring New Zealand; and my middle has been to Melbourne three times for the January poker tournament. We have all had very positive experiences in your side of the world.

PS - We are having leg of lamb for our New Year's dinner : )
