![]() For 2008 I'm going to try and eat better. We eat pretty well now, but, I would like to do even better. Also, I am going to try and give more "freely" and not worry about how the recipient uses what I give, etc. The joy is in the giving. I'm also going to try and be more easy going and not let things bother me so much. Also, I have started a new thing for me.....RAOK in public, i.e., paying for another's soda, candy bar, coffee, etc, just because. Just basically living a more fulfilling, happy go lucky life. P.S. Itzme91, if you want that kit, just email me, I have a set of leg warmers and a hat/scarf set, I think. They are just taking up room here, and I'd be glad to bless you with them

Ok, MyTime. I'm cheating. I like your list: 1. Exercise Mon - Fri (min. of 30 minutes) 2. Meditate more often 3. Eat better (less eating out) 4. Put money away for vacation. 5.. Add more to savings. 6. Put more effort into Flylady. 7. Be more patient with kids and Steve. 8. Cook breakfast. 9. Start selling on ebay. 10. Blog more often. 11. Actually stay on our budget. 12. Spend more time with Steve. (date night with Steve) 13. Read more (Desparately need to clear out some of these books.) 14. Accept, deal with and finally move on from the pain my family has caused me. 15. Get back into online reward programs. 16. List coupons weekly instead of putting it off. except for a couple of things: My number 7 would be more patient with son and Bob. My number 9 would be to BUY less on Ebay. Skip number 10 - I don't blog. 12. I will spend more time with Steve, oops I mean Bob. And number 14 -- I should probably read LESS. I read about 5 magazines a week, a daily newspaper or 2, and I read a book every day or two. I'm a fast reader.I think you've covered it all!!!

I am going to seriously spend less, get my finances in line, and get myself in shape. My baby is 15 months old, and I should be looking alot better than I do!!! I have alot of expensive legal things coming up this year, but I am going to tackle them head on, and get them out of the way. I hope I stay strong thru out!!!

Pardon my work-self coming out, but when it comes to goal-setting, it helps to make them specific and measurable. You can even break them down into shorter milestones. That way you will KNOW when you've accomplished something, can reward yourself, and feel motivated to move on to the next. Vague goals tend to fall by the wayside quickly. In other words, read one book each month, save $500 by the end of March, do 30 mins cardio 3x week and 30 minutes weight training 3x week. cj/

I have been so incredibly sentimental this holiday season. After spending much of the past year in the hospital and bed riddden on a feeding tube, almost dying from malnutrition, umpteen infections from PIC LINES, lung collapse after surgery, then ultimately getting my Gastric Bypass reversed, and recovering from that, I am just so thankful for being alive this Christmas, when I pretty much had written myself off for dead. My Goals for the New Year are simple. I want to start to exercise to build up some strength. I want to pick up my cross stitching again, as I always had loved to do it, and it calmed me. I want to get together many of my pictures of the family and get them into frames. My baby girl (16 LOL) just got her license on Friday so I am going to be sooo lonely, but maybe this is the time I should enjoy my new freedom (instead of getting "Can you drive me? When are you coming home? I need a ride..blah blah blah). Happy New Year Everyone!

Those infections from pic lines are so horrible - my dad ultimately lost the fight because of his final sepsis infection originating from the site of the pic line. This will be a great year for you - since I can tell you're making the most of it. I'm so happy for you! D |

My goals (and I will make them as measurable as I can, ala cj's tip): Keep my room clean (no clothes on floor, and bed made each morning) so as to be a good example to my children Take vitamins daily Try to wait an extra 3 seconds when reacting to my kids if what they do is upsetting work to ensure that each monthly electric bill is lower than the previous month's I'll want to work on other stuff, too, but these will be my written down goals for now. |

Here are mine: Somehow declutter this house (haven't figured out how I'm going to manage that with 4 kids, one is a year old=no time). Truly start living my life. Quit spending so much time on computer and on t.v. Get a will done so if something happens to me and DH, my kids will be taken care of. Have to first figure out who in the world we would want to do that job--not crazy inlaws or my sister that can't even stand to be around her only child, sigh. My partents are getting in bad health plus they can't ever find a good thing to say to me about anything (even though I'm quite accomplished haha, but they have always been this way so they are OUT) so I wouldn't expose them to that for sure. What to do.... Add me to the list that is going to start letting stupid peoples' comments harm me less and roll off. Mostly my extended family and DH's family. They are all whacked and apparently miserably unhappy people to want to constantly demean or drain us emotionally. Their issues will no longer be our issues. (Thanks for letting me vent.) Save, save, save... Buy less. Have more fun, and be happy. Create more memories with my kids as they will not be little for much longer (my oldest is 11). Life is certainly too short. |

I need to get fit, by exercising and eating better, and get along better with my mom...Seems all we do is fight over silliness. I also plan to "Pay it Forward" every chance I get, (I just had a chance this morning, and I feel great) |

It was such a rough year, and with each infection and hospital stay, I would just cry and cry. I told the Dr. I didn't want to play the game anymore. I would beg the anesthesiologist to give me some extra so that I didn't have to wake up. My kids kept me going.....

Mine are easy this year. 1. Concentrate on my health and getting better. 2. Quit worrying about all these medical bills for my health and sanity... 3. Get some savings built back up.... Of course, I still want to do the regular exercise more, lose more weight, etc. I lost 90 lbs in the past 2 years and would like to lose another 25-30 lbs. I was doing decent before the holidays with out little challenge here, mostly because of a kidney stone, though. Not exactly the diet I'd recommend. LOL |
