I think pretty much the whole nation is in a bit of a freeze right now......so, let's focus on the positive.....What do you LOVE about Winter???

Sitting home watching the snow fall, Cuddling up with hot chocolate and watching movies and early dismissals from work (that's if we are lucky, most of the time we have to use our own time)

1. No scorching hot, high humidity days that keep you inside in the air conditioning just to be able to breathe!
2.. A lot less bugs!!!!!

Square dancing is friendship set to music!

Snow days (although now that I have 4 wheel drive, that probably won't matter)
Baking - love to bake cookies and goodies when it is cold outside
Casseroles - yummy and hot for supper
Gorgeous redbirds at my feeders outside
No humidity - I agree with the above poster
Get to wear jeans on the weekends - I never wear jeans in summer - too hot

Great for cuddling
Don't have to wear shorts and have a tan
Its cold ,and I like it cold.

That it's only three months away from spring

The sound fresh powder makes {{crunching}} under your ski boots as you haul your gear up to the slopes.

The smell of the mountain you're about to ski down.

The sound of the sleighbells on the horses that are pulling the sleigh ride before the dinner in front of a big roaring fire that happens to be in a log cabin all decked out in it's holiday best.

Sunshine throwing a thousand sparklies on the snow covered trees out ahead of you zipping down the trail.

Sipping hot cocoa on the balcony of your ski in/ski out chalet under the bright twinkly stars with someone you love.

Catching snowflakes on your nose, eyelashes, and tongue as the sky starts to blanket you with the magic of softly falling snow.




I could go on, but these are some of my favorite things about winter.

Lower AC bills

I can finally wear a coat, which is a rarity where I reside.
On that same note, the fashion and layering of clothes. I think I look and dress better during this time.

Well the Holidays are my favorite time of year and believe it or not I love the cold weather I love it that it's dark in the morning and evening. I guess I appreciate something about all the seasons.

winter is so awesome. don't get me wrong, i love the sun/beach/summer... BUUUT, i appreciate everything about winter. if we could eliminate the idea of bad driving conditions, i'd love it even more. i have to say that's my only real complaint.

if you don't like it, you might just need a warmer coat!

I'm so hot all the time that I'm finally comfortable when it's really cold!! I rarely even wear a winter coat. At least I've been able to this winter. And I've worn socks too!! Last year I think I wore socks about 4 times. I get that warm!! So I love the snow, the cold, the fireplace-all of it!!! (Except ice!!!)

It usally keeps (at least some)of the drunks at home and off the streets.

No bugs!! The ones in Fl. will carry you off.

What do I like about winter? Hmm... I love snow, but only if it's enough to really do something with. I love wearing soft sweaters, and cool boots. I love hot chocolate on a cold night, and putting my cold feet on my hubby.

Hmmm.... my favorite thing about winter is the snow. We dont seem to get much here but every year I spend the winter wishing for it. I would love just enough to cause the town to slow down and have some fun. We live in a great place for sledding and I have some sleds that are just waiting to be used.


Other than that, I love wearing layers of clothes (the warmer the better) and I love having our fire place going!

Sell crazy some place else, we are all stocked up here.

Sitting out in the hot tub and having big fluffy snow flakes falling all around. It's a real bonus when the deer come down off the hill to feed while we're out there.

EVERYTHING !!!

Everyone around here that talks about winter hates it except for me it seems.

Wearing all my winter sweaters.
On weekends wearing my soft cuddly sweatshirts and pants and big thick wooly socks.
Cuddling up with a nice warm blanket and reading until my heart is content.
I love it when it snows and you can see the snow on the evergreen trees and bushes - it is sooo pretty.
When I drive to work in the mornings and the trees have a little ice on them and the way the sun shines on them before it melts off is picture perfect !!

I could go on and on, but those are a few of my "perks".

Nothing.....except I LOVE Christmas.

The only other thing good to me about Winter (because I HATE being cold!!) is that, since I work in special ed and with multi-handicapped kids, when it is winter here in California it rains in winter....then we have inside P.E. and I don't have to run with my kids (some of my kids have physical imbalances and need someone to run with them in case they trip or fall......luckily they don't run too fast...but I still have to run a mile one day a week, a mile and a half one day a week and half a mile one day a week......other two days are just about 1/4 mile.) you'd think that with all that "running" I'd be a size 6....but that is only wishful thinking. So, no running for 6 weeks or so is the better part of Winter for me.....

We don't have winter down here in Atlanta...but I do miss winter in NJ...playing in the snow...sledding...hearing our school's number called on the radio that we had the day off...winter clothes (I love boots and sweaters!)...the crispness in the air...seeing your breath when you exhale...lots of things! ~Lisa

Being in Alaska, I get more than my fair share of winter. That being said, I love the cool crisp air, the holidays, and the Northern Lights. I also like that all the mosquitos (aka the Alaska State Bird) are gone. We just came in from taking the dogs for a nice walk in the woods. Dh was singing Walking in a Winter Wonderland.

we are staying at the top, at Lake Jean. If it is cold, we will sled and skate and make weinies on the fire, if it is warm, we can hike down and see some of the 22 waterfalls (we have only ever hiked up from the bottom of the mountain, and have only seen about five of the magnificent waterfalls, so going down from the top will provide us with a new view)

I dislike most everything about the winter. I hate the cold weather. I hate snow.

I like how life seems to slow down and we relax and enjoy being home without feeling guilty. I like spending the evening with the kids and not having to "run" as much as we seem to do the rest of the year. I love to curls up with a book and read.

Going to bed early is a treat! I love my electric blanket and quilts!!

what do I like about winter ??

that it doesn't last too long down here - it was a beautiful 79 deg yesterday and today's high is supposed to be in the 80's!

I was wearing a t-shirt & shorts yesterday - working in the yard!

sorry, cold weather is just not my thing! (should I tell y'all how I really feel?)
