New Years Resolutions

What is your New Years Resolution for 2008? Do you have a success story for past Resolutions or did they fall by the wayside like most of mine have!

This year, I am determined to drop a few pounds so I have ordered NutriSystem to force myself to diet. I've also started a curse jar to stop talking like a sailor, each time I swear I'll have to donate $1. At the end of the year, I'll probably donate it to charity, which one I'm not sure yet. And I'm also determined to start saving money for retirement and quit spending money "like it grows on trees" as my mother would say.

Please share your stories, whether they were successful orrrr not so much

I'm 29 and finally decided to start saving for retirement last week. I maxxed out the 07 Roth IRA contribution last Friday (talk about last minute) and want to do it again this year. My only concern is that its lost almost $10 in less than a week! Guess I need to think of how much it will be worth in 20 odd years not right now.

I also want to start a college 529 for my niece who is due in May

Every other year I made resolutions to travel more but those never panned out. I rarely leave Jersey these days

Our last years resolution was to buckle down and pay off the house. That meant no vacation, we take 3 a year...... so we did actually pay off the homestead. Now my resolution is to adopt a child and be the best parent that I can be. I did the swear jar a few years back and made a ton of money..... about 500.00$ and that wasn't even in a year..... I have lots of friends who came over and made them contribute to.

haha wow! 500 bucks! That's a lot of moola. And 3 vacations a year! Thats amazing. I wish I could take 3 a year. My bf is the exalted ruler of his Elks lodge (haha oh geez I give him the business all the time) and last year we went to their yearly convention for about 4 days in NC all expenses paid and then went to Duck about 3 weeks later . This year the convention is in Anaheim (yay Disneyland!!) and we will probably go to that and then Duck again.
