I purchased a roomba at Target for $200 and went to return it today (unopened) because I'd found a way better deal on-line. I'd paid with a $10 one time use credit card (from this summer's Lipton rebate) and the remainder with my Amex. Because the disposable card was used first customer service and the managers (it became an issue) at the store kept insisting they could either refund all of it to the card (which I'd thrown away) OR issue me a $200 gift card. I love Target as much as the next deal hunter but after coupons and deals doubt I spend that much in a YEAR. They finally called corporate who told them to give me cash ![]() Lesson learned: Only use disposable cards for gas or use them second if there is any possibility of having to do a return! |

I ended up getting the Roomba 535 from HSN.com - The Original Site for Home Shopping for $212.xx after coupon - it was an upgrade to the Target one so had lots of cool new features. I LOVE IT! It transitions from the carpetted living room to the hard wood foyer and tiled kitchen without any problems at all and picks up SO MUCH stuff! We had the carpet deep cleaned with a Kirby about two months ago and regularly vaccuum but it picked up so much more stuff. It has an internal memory and infrared sensors so within a few minutes it was circling the couch legs to clean instead of bumping into it. Plus it slides under dressers which hadn't been moved in ages. Once its done it redocks itself to charge for next time ![]() I'll never buy an upright again! Thank you to the above posters; I'm glad I was able to get my money back too! |

| Good Reminder!
I ran into the same problem when I was returning something to Lowes Hardware. It was over $200 worth of shelving. I had paid with a credit card that I then cancelled because I thought I had lost it. They sent me a new one, but it was not the same number, etc. Lowes wanted to give me store credit but I rarely shop there. They called the credit card company, which confirmed that if they put the credit on the old card number it would transfer to my new card.Kind of crazy, but it worked! |
