The football thread had me thinking.. what do you do while your DH/SO is watching

My BF loves football thankfully since we have been at his house the past few weekends, he hasn't watched any of the games, we have been out doing other things. This weekend however, that is going to change because he wants to see the Cowboys play. I have no interest in watching and we will be at his house again so i don't want to stay there while he is watching (his grandma will drive me crazy) so I was thinking of things I can do while he is watching. So far I think I will go get my nails done, I need a fill in, but that isn't going to take 3 hours. Any other suggestions? Also, if any of you are from the Brooklyn / Queens area, that is where I will be if you have any suggestions of things to do in that area. I just know of a few places, woodhaven to shop, the target off the belt parkway and queens center mall, i just don't like going there because i always get lost leaving there. I am not too familiar with the subways or I'd go into Manhattan Thanks in advance for any ideas

It depends. If I want to be near him, I'll read. If we don't need the together time I might go out with the kids or work on some projects around the house.

You might want to try to sit down and learn the game. I used to be a "I hate football" type too. But once I got involved in it and actually learned the game and how it's played, I can actually sit there with DH and enjoy the game. Being a woman, of course, we can do more than one thing at a time, so I'll usually have a book or magazine to read too.

And I can't miss a Virginia Tech Hokie football game!!

Me, too! Once I understood all the rules, I found it a lot more fun to watch the games. It also had the added advantage of not having to prepare the snacks anymore because I might miss a play. Now, we just pick up wings or pizza before a big game and I like that much better than being the one to make them!

Thank goodness I don't have this problem. I hate football, and I can't imagine being married to someone who liked it. My hubby has no interest in the game. I do have a problem of trying to figure out what to do while he's playing suduko though! LOL

Shop, go to the movies, read a magazine, take a nap. (not all at once, of course)

Im just a fanatic when it comes to football. I care more than many guys I know...but that will all come to a halt tonight when LSU beats the heck out of O H I O....then I can harrass the crap out of my cousin who's practically engaged to the former BAMA mascot. They HATE LSu with a passion. Keeps family gatherings interesting. Learn the game! Makes it more fun when you have to haul your kids to them later too!

I'll usually watch with him, but if I'm not interested in the game, I'll usually clean, iron, take a nap, read a magazine, go on the computer, or sit there with him and clip coupons. ~Lisa

I watch tv upstairs, or read a book/surf the internet downstairs.

We both watch college ball and neither of us give a rip about pro ball, so it works out well. I'm actually the bigger fan than he is on college sports. I'll watch and he'll kind of watch while playing on his laptop at the same time.

I usually find some house work to do - or I sit with him and work on my current knitting project.
