What do you do with all of this "stuff?"

I keep reading in amazement how many deals some of these posters buy. Ladies with two and three shopping carts of deals that they are buying at Target after Holiday sales. How do you store it all? We have a 2700 square foot home and a finished basement - You all must have HUGE homes. I can't imagine trying to store all of the toys and things you are purchasing.I have a hard enough time trying to keep the house company ready 24/7 - I can't imagine trying to sort and store all of the items you guys are buying. So where do you go with it all?

I store everything in my basement in tubs. Somethings go to friends. I just had a friend tell me yesterday that she loves to come shopping at my house. I also give to shelter drives and things as they come up. This year our church helped an outreach center in Milwaukee with Christmas gifts as well as other outreaches. We have a store at the church where the kids can earn tickets and buy stuff. Also, at Christmas they can get gifts for their parents and we wrap them too. I do most of the buying for that.
I always have gifts on hand for when the kids get invited to a birthday party. At Christmas I put up tables in the basement, put all the stuff out, and "shop" for the people on my list. Sometimes I have the things already set aside with an idea of who they are for. I want to get better at that every year so I don't have 10 gifts for my niece! This year I put lots of health and beauty type items out at my rummage sale. I priced it for a little profit, but it was still a good deal for everyone. The money I made gave me money to shop with. Some friends think I am a shopaholic, but they are the first one's wanting to get stuff from me!

I have a four car garage and my friends always come shopping there. I also have a section for yard sale things and keep adding to it.

we have a three bedroom house built in 1920.
It has been completely remodeled so that all bedrooms have really nice sized closets. We have a finished basement that has a furnace room that we store clothes in tubs. Two of the bedrooms are not being used currently as our master bedroom is really a master suite with a nursery attached. We have two little boys (6 mos and 3 years) and the 6 month old is in the room with us and the 3 year old is in the nursery. Because of that, one of the bedrooms is used as "the store" my husband purchased 2 huge bookcases and I store everything on those and then we have tons of storage in our house, we keep our Holiday stuff in the coat closet. We keep the brand new clothes in a closet in the smaller of the two bedrooms for the boys and our guest bathroom has an armoire and huge walk-in closet we keep diapers, wipes, baby hba, and other baby goodies in. We have a two car garage with an attic so we keep bigger boxes up there. Kind of all around...but everything is mostly organized...except the store. There was a hurricane that went through there just a few weeks ago for obvious reasons and it's been out of sight out of mind...lol!

I have an unused linen closet that I had DH put a locking knob (with a key). I store my stuff there. We always donate TONS of stuff to toys for tots, plus gifts for my friends and family

Just curious - who are you locking your stash away from? Is it because you have things that you'll be giving your immediate family for gifts?
