Anyone know anything about Medicaid and Bladder protection?? :)

I have a friend whose wife just got approved for Medicaid. She uses bladder control products (like Depends) and he's been told by several people that Medicaid will cover it. What we need to do know is find out WHERE to get them (he's been told somewhere on the internet??). Her doctor will write a prescription, we just can't find out where to go from there. I've been looking through the Virginia Medicaid site and I can't get anywhere.

Anyone have any knowledge/experience with this??

THANK YOU!!!

Medcaid will cover pull ups or diapers..you MUST have 2 DX in the state of Va.
With incontence <?sp?> listed second..Look in your local phone book..for any home health places that have wheelchairs/walkers/potty chairs etc. they are the ones you will need to get your diapers/pull ups from..she will most likely not get depends but will get prevail which is cheaper and if she has heavy problems at nite she will need to double them...
Make sure she checks the sizes..but home health is where I get my diapers/pull ups for the boys..
You can check they might not need 2 dx for a adult, I know they do for a child after the age of 3.

HDIS | Home Delivery of Incontinent Supplies & Products is where I get supplies for my 18 yr old disabled daughter. I used to just use the local home health store before that though. HDIS is nice as they deliver to your door.

instead of wearing double, get the liners. they work really well. there is some pretty thick ones you can get that looks like a reg. pad and they are the best.
there is alot of different places that provide these and will deliver to your home. ck around. there are some that charge alot more than others. look for local places, they seem to be cheaper. at least that is what my client tell me.

Yep VA Medicaid will cover incontinence supplies, there are some local home health agencies that accept medicaid and will deliver, there are others online etc. Best place to look things up is the DMAS website. I think it is DMAS.Gov. I could be wrong, look on the left side for Provider listings I think thats what it is called. Sorry cant give you the link its on my desktop and I am on my laptop stuck in bed for a few days You are looking for a DME or Durable MEdical Equipment PRovider

A reminder for those of you that purchase incontinence products - Depends and Poise are both brands that offer a rebate through The Caregivers Marketplace. www.caregiversmarketplace.com

I just received my $15 rebate check for all the <free> Glucerna (also a participating brand) cereal from the Walgreens deal.
