Ok, so I made a trade for some frees I had..I posted them and then after I received the $, I realized that the last time I shared coupons with my buddies locally, one of them must have dipped into my frees and taken 3 of them...

I immediately emailed and apologized(it was my fault for not double checking, but I have been mad sick with hyperemesis again this pregnancy and didn't think to need to check, they were there before!) and offered either a refund or a substitute of other frees in the same family. The response I got was horrendous. He freaked out at me and told me that he couldn't believe me, I was so stupid and now he was going to look like a moron because he PROMISED THEM TO SOMEONE ELSE! Ok, so he is reselling my coupons, probably for more money and yes, it was my fault, but it wasn't like I just sent the lesser amount and was like, tough luck...

So he wrote telling me to send me the remainder of the frees I owed him and more money than he paid for the other missing coupons or he would "report" me. I told him to forget it, I would send him the money for ALL the coupons plus his postage back and be done. I mailed them the next day and then 3 days later, he sends me a threatening email that basically says I am f*cking with the wrong person and I better not be scamming him(undertones of he knows my address) and that I better have sent the money.

So I email back and say, look, I am sending your money back via paypal, plus postage. I don't care that he sent me cash, I just want this to be done. I told him when he gets the other $ to just donate it to charity(not that I think he would, but it isn't worth it to me to continue corresponding at this point).

Then I blocked his emails.

Should I be afraid that he will try and make a stink here and tarnish my reputation? Or worse?

Some people just shouldn't be released into the general population.

I just read a a posting on the trade form about how it is illegal to sell coupons and many of the people involved in this are bad news.

Ummm...well, if he's implying that he's going to do something and he has your address; YOU HAVE HIS AS WELL.

I would not worry about one person who complains. I rarely, if ever look at negative feedback, unless that's the ONLY feedback a person has. Personally? I would just let it ride and see if he pursues it any further. A lot of people talk tough to try and intimidate others. And when their intimidation tactics do not work, they just slink back into their dark dank cave.

Is it still legal to trade coupons for other coupons ?

The CIC is about going after businesses who fraudulently redeem coupons and people who use and/or make fraudulent coupons.

They don't go after traders. Because that is what we do-trade coupons. The person I traded with didn't have the coupons I wanted, so we traded so I could get the coupons I wanted.

Are you implying that I am going to be investigated by the CIC? :

I guess just about everyone on this board is in big trouble..especially this board, because they host a trading board! LOL

sounds like something I dealth with when I posted some good coupons awhile back real cheap and someone replied that they would send paypal - the postage cause I should pay the shipping. dont understand some people. the .41 cents to ship them was more than what I was selling them for . so why would I PAY someone to take the coupons? good luck. I wouldnt worry about it. like another poster said. some folks shouldnt be allow out in the world.
