This could be fun or it could really hurt your brain.

I have been going to this site for the past few days trying my hardest to guess this sound and i even hear it in my sleep and its constantly wracking my brain at this point. I wasn't going to even post this, but at this point i want a new sound!! I can give you a list of what this sound is not and from what i have read elsewhere they played this sound back in june of 07 and no one could guess it then either.
MY SECRET SOUND | Guess the Secret Sound and Win $2000 Instantly
Here are the rules first.

(1) Try to be specific with your guesses.
(2) Don't say 'or' in your guess, that's two guesses and will be notified incorrect. - For example: 'Using a keyboard or typewriter' - That's two guesses!

It is not

turning knob on gumball machine and ball coming down to the flapdoor where it comes out. ~orianna
~home golf game, release of ball as it rolls out
~turning the knob to unlock garage door
a coin being inserted and going through a slot machine -blah956
-Money dropping into a pay phone -
pulling the cord on a lawn mower to start it! ~
pulling the lever in a pin ball machine. the sound is when the lever thing hits the ball and then the spring in the lever retracts back. ~
lifting the mail slot on the door and then letting it go ~
pressing in the button to open a microwave oven and then shutting the microwave oven!
making the puck into the goal on an air hockey table
putting a coin in a pay phone and having it come straight back out into the change slot
opening the latch on a door and letting it drop and it hits the door before it stops
dropping a connect four piece down a line on top of another piece

putting a playing piece into a connect four game, it drops to the bottom and bounces.
dropping a pen into a pen holder and then the pen bounces on the bottom of the holder.
a marble dropping through part of a marble maze toy and bouncing.
letting the lid of a cheese storage box in a fridge slide shut, then the lid bounces. -
Ejecting a VCR tape out of a VCR, you pull out the tape and then the little flap falls shut behind it.

Plachinko machine dropping balls into the game -
Ejecting a cassette tape from a stereo (the plastic door popping open). --
- turning the crank on a gumball machine, getting the gumball out and letting the door flap closed.
- Lifting the gas nozzle on a pump and the metal flap banging closed. ----
A roll of film being dropped into a film canister and bouncing -
An old-school top-loading VHS player opening up. -
A pencil getting knocked off a table and hitting the floor.-
Turning the handle on a gumball machine and a gumball dropping down.-
coin being dropped into a piggy bank

My guesses and are incorrect are

using coin dispenser to get coin back on pay phone
pull down lever on a childs see and say toy.
Turning the knob on a deadbolt lock turning it in to lock posistion.
pushing the slider of a stamp machine in and then releasing the slider back out.
pushing the button in to use the flipper on a pinball machine.

GOOD LUCK I HOPE SOMEONE CAN GUESS IT!!!!!!

I made another guess of a can of pop dropping down in a pop machine. To me it sounds like something dropping down in a machine.

Didn't guess on the site, but sounds to me like one of the kids' toy cash registers.

I'm sure I'm wrong, but that's my only idea!

remember folks someone was close it said the other day so variation in wording may help. giving detail is everything. don't jut say keyboard you need to describe it.

it is not a doorknob being turned to unlock a door then releasing doorknob

There is no hints they will sometimes give a hint of the sound goes on forever and unguessed. On another message board they said this sound was played before during the summer and they never put a hint out and eventually took the sound down and put a new one up. So now we get the sound back and no hints. Its a tough one and from the scroll on the bottom of the screen people must be giving up trying to guess.

I guessed these 2 and they were both wrong:

Hitting the total button on an adding machine.
A coin being dropped into a jukebox.
