Is Anyone Watching Idol Tonight?

I wasn't going to as I think each season it gets worse...but my Mom talked me into it. She said that these auditions are going to be from Philly which is where I'm from. I'm sure they'll show around town and I'd like to see it. I hope that this season Randy finally drops "Dawg" from his vocabulary and Paula stops telling every single contestant that they were great. I was just thinking that it was fun when we did that American Idol contest on here last time (even though I got Sanjaya!). I wonder what he's been up to these days? I almost forgot about him! ~Lisa

Me too! I can hardly wait! Although I enjoy the beginning episodes (actually find them amusing), I really like it when they get down to people who can actually sing.

I have to admit that I am somewhat entertained by some of the worst auditions. One would think that at this point that only those with real talent would show up. I think some of the worst just want to get on tv, or possible they're delusional.

I, too am tired of Randy and Paula. I don't mind Simon as he tells it like it is.

It is a bittersweet thing for me. I enjoy watching it but I do not enjoy the bad auditions. I don't like the mean spiritness of it and the shock that us viewers are supposed to have. The talking between Simon, Randy and Paula is not amusing. I also do not enjoy the very scriptedness of "here is my sob story" that some people tell. I do enjoy watching parents supporting their kids, listening to wonderful singers and watching them grow.

I'll be doing some flipping back and forth between American Idol and The Biggest Loser.

I'm watching again, at least in part because of the writers strike. Not much else on.

I'm taking a break right now...I felt so bad when they were laughing at that one guy...Yes, he was terrible, but it just makes me feel really bad for them. I can't imagine being up there and having them laugh in my face. I guess you just have to have tough skin to be in that business. How about "glitter girl" Whoooaaaaa! I kind of liked her. I think she just might get a call from someone to do some acting. She'd be much better at that...although she did sound alot like Grace Slick! ~Lisa

Kristy Lee just sounds like a winning name and she looked the part, sounded the part, everything.

Some people should just stick to singing with the radio, I can't believe they REALLY think they have a good voice?! Yeah I can rock it too when I have Pink backing me up.

Watched all but about 1/2 hour (reading to d/d!). Painful to watch.

I always wonder if there is not anyone at all in their lives who said "Hey, love you, but you are just not ready to sing in front of millions."

I too thought that Glitter Girl was good, and different. How many other girls can pull off Grace Slick or Janis Joplin? I was surprised that they didn't at least pass her on to the next round. I thought she was making a good impression until she flipped the camera off a dozen times. Must of been pretty mad.

Which one was Kristy Lee? The last contestant?

The one girl that I really like was the horse trainer and kick boxer.

Yes, I watched. I've been hooked on Idol since Taylor Hicks!

There were some good ones last night and some horrible ones!! I thought Simon was actually pretty nice to all of them last night. Can't wait till the auditions are over and the real show starts!!

I thought Randy and Paula were very rude laughing at that guy. Yes he sucked but geesh. That glitter girl, wasn't she touted as the meanest girl in Philly?? She did sound better than I expected.
But I love watching AI, I got hooked on it last season!

I think they, especially Simon, were much kinder this year than in past years. Except when Paula and Randy laughed at the poor man who sang that gospel song. I felt very bad for him.

On the other hand - Glitter Girl and Princess Leah really, REALLY over reacted. They weren't terrible, but not good enough for AI.

I also liked Glitter Girl's voice, but she was really off Key.

I agree!!!

The glitter girl went on and on and on....and I even went back to see what Simon, Paula and Randy said to her......They were actually nice saying she would do well being in a cover band. She wanted he time on TV and once she wasn't pass on to Hollywood she was going to make her 30 seconds last for 5 minutes....mission accomplished!

I thought all three judges were less harsh last night, I loved when all three of them walked that 16 yr old football girl out. That poor girl has a lot to deal with.
