I use to take my kids to the mall, or Mcdonalds for the playscape, I always try to do the free things. If your child likes animals you could go to PetSmart (yes the pet supply store), that was what my kids liked best we could spend hours in there. They have lots of pets for sale and my children LOVED looking at all the pets. The zoo is always good, there are more indoor places than you think, it was always easy to keep warm. Children's Muesum and adult muesum are good. Hmmm thats all I can think of right now. Goodluck Renee |

Now it depends on the library, but on Long Island we can use our library card anywhere in the county and there are tons and tons of libraries. Some have amazing children's libraries where there are toys and puzzles and lots of things for very young children. Some have specific play times and all have reading times. We didn't have much money so free was what we enjoyed! I found some libraries that were very accommodating to noise but some did actually expect the children to sit and not move or make a sound!!!! Well we didn't go there again. So I had to hunt around until I found some perfect places. We used them in the dead of winter and also when it was incredibly hot outstide and we didn't have air conditioning!!! Also our township had a number of playground related indoor/outdoor programs that were free as well. There were crafts/sports/playground/etc. programs that I signed up for on a regular basis. I know my kids were little but I can't remember just what age they started at, but we did them ALL !!!! Then the state and county also had some programs like puppet shows and various other activities that traveled around....and many times we would travel around too to see them multiple times.
