Who else was surprised by the outcome in the boardroom tonight? I thought the women's team was going to pull it off but the Kodak executives thought that Hydra promoted their product better. I was really shocked at the end.

First time I watched the celebrity addition. Gene Simmons had to go after his obnoxious behavior and his bad choices in who he choose to take with him.

I think he was over it....and just was ready to go, which is why he took in the two people he did. He knew it left Trump no choice on who to fire.

I agree. He'd already gotten money for his charity and probably figured this was no longer worth his time. I still think he's a marketing genius. I admire him for being able to tell top executives the truth, even though The Donald isn't smart enough to realize Simmons was right.

Gene was brilliant! I agree with deer and kathy, he left on his own terms. Now on one can say he was fired because he did a bad job. He can say he was fired because he wanted to be. Brilliant!

Gene Simmons was on Jim Cramers Mad Money stock show on one of the cable networks tonight. He said he had to go because he had other things going on that he had to attend to. I can't remember exactly what he had going on. He mentioned that they are getting ready to tour in March and he has to tape his other show.

It kind of sounded like it was planned in advance that he would be leaving.

Yea I knew he wanted to go as well when he brought in who he did. I honestly thought the other team had the gist of what they were selling better anyways. They had a great tactic.The ink was the thing..It is alot cheaper then other ink cartridges and If I had not gotten a new lexmark for Christmas I would buy one of them just for the fact that the ink cartridges are cheap to buy.

I agree. I figured he had had enough and wanted to get out. I mean, he got his money for his charity and he sure wasn't doing it for money for himself. I'm sure it takes lots of time to do this show and he picked those two because he knew they hadn't done anything to deserve to be kicked off.

Smart move on Gene's part.

When they announced he was going to be on, I figured it was good publicity for him and his ventures. The KISS tour needs no advertising, the KISS army is alive and strong. I think he had a predetermined date to leave so he could attend to his other ventures and it would be great advertising for his show. I think he is crude and obnoxious and I love him. He knows he is and doesn't apologize for it. Smart, smart man, and his son is just charming he daughter is beautiful and Shannon is just the woman to keep him grounded.

I completely agree. I think he's absolutely repulsive, in both looks and manner. I don't understand why the posters here think he's a marketing genius, either. To be even a mediocre marketer, you have to be able to market yourself and he can't even do that much. He's actually unlikeable. His Kodak slogan was pretty good IF he was supposed to be marketing Kodak as a company. He wasn't supposed to be marketing Kodak per se, though. He was told to market the printer and he failed miserably. What kind of moron doesn't even know the name of the product that he's selling? That's not a marketing genius, that's an idiot.

Obviously, the one who should have been fired is the one who loused up the Kodak executive interview. She was so busy talking that she did not hear what the execs were telling her. For the life of me, I can not figure out why the other women who was with her did not speak up in Gene's defense. Between those two and Omarosa, the women's team is doomed.

And, Gene is a marketing genius. His catchphrase was terrific. If whatever her name is had come back to the brainstorming session with the ink focus, Gene could have easily adapted. I think he ws ready to move on.

I hope they go back to the previous format next year. I am so over Omarosa-

Trump wanted to fire Nelly, who botched up the interview but Gene refused to bring her into the boardroom. Carol Alt was the other woman who was at the interview. She usually doesn't say anything unless Trump addresses her directly. I think Stephen Baldwin has a good chance at making it to the finals. That British guy is obnoxious.

Who are Nelly and Carol Alt? Have they done anything I would recognize?

Gene is a marketing genius. 4 middle aged guys in face paint and latex, do you have any idea the following the band has? He has the KISS name on everything, including condoms, and people buy! KISS concerts sell out, the music is ok but the following is HUGE. He looks like a trout, but women love him. He has created his personna, and women love him, that is marketing. I love the fact that he makes no apologies for his behavior, he is what he says he is. He doesn't hide who he is. He created KISS, he made millions doing it, and he continues to make millions.. He knows what he is doing.

I love Gene Simmons. Marketing genius or not. I love KISS. I guess younger people dont understand. Kiss reminds me of my teen years. I remember blaring KISS music and singing.. "I want to rock and roll all night, and party every day" at the top of our lungs in 1977. And our parents yelling at us to turn that "crap" off.
I love his show Family Jewels. Even my dh who was and is not a KISS fan watches it and I catch him laughing all the time.

Gene may not be the best looking man but think about the women who have been with him. The ones I remember the most have been long term . . there must be a reason why!? money, sex and think about it he goes on tour and is gone for easily 6 months at a time. And to boot the man is how old and keeps that kind of life.

I love Gene Simmons! He cracks me up!! His show is hilarious and his kids are great! Now that he is gone from The Apprentice, I really have no interest in watching it. There just isn't enough "drama" I guess you could say

Gene Simmons is a pimp, as in he pimps himself. That's all there is to it, he's no marketing genius. There is hardly any offer out there that he won't sign up for if he can make money. All he does is sell himself. I don't like or dislike the guy, I just see him for what he has done to himself.
