My dad and step-mom are on their way up from Florida today and tomorrow-- they should be here by lunchtime tomorrow. I am in BAD need of my daddy right now. I can't wait for them to get here!

My oncologist wants me to do more chemo-- and this time I'll have to take the bad stuff again, which means being admitted into the hospital each time I do chemo. I'm MOST unhappy about this-- especially since I thought I'd be done with chemo by April, and now we're talking til at least June. Plus, I'll have to take steroids before each treatment, and I hate how they make me feel.

I just hope the snow holds off til tomororw afternoon!!

I've been doing chemo since October... I had 2 really bad reactions to the drug they gave me in October and November, so they pulled me off the Carbo, and I've been doing the Gemzar. (The first time they gave me the Carbo, I threw up for 8 days; the 2nd time, I went into anaphalytic shock) However, my oncologist isn't pleased with the results, and he wants me to go back on the Carbo. Since I've had really bad reactions, he wants to hospitalize me when I take it, so that they can monitor me.

Holly, I hope you have a GREAT visit with your dad and stepmom. I know you're so excited to have them visit. When we lived away from family, we enjoyed our visits from my mom and dad, too. It's just such a fun time when relatives come.

I'm so sorry you're having to take the bad chemo again. That sucks. We have a 1st cousin who just had surgery (he's only 56) at Duke for lung cancer (never smoked a day in his life). They had to remove his lung and he has to start chemo and radiation in March. We've been keeping up with them and just listening to what they're going thru makes me more in touch with what you're going thru.

You hang in there and enjoy your visit with your dad. Lots of hugs and lots of pictures!!

I'm having a great time with my Dad-- I woke up in a ton of pain this morning. My back and neck were really sore-- I may just have slept wrong. I took a pain pill and laid back down for a while. We took our time getting up, had a nice breakfast, played cards, etc. Then after showers, Dad and my hubby took the kids bike riding while my step-mom and I just hung up and talked. Tonight we went out to dinner for my hubby's birthday. They'll be here til Tuesday night.

He is doing really well. Not sure if you remember how sick he was 2 years ago with cancer. He gave us all quite a scare, but he's doing great now.
