Thank you for the information. It still amazes me how some people will STILL give out their private information just because an e-mail 'says' it's from the IRS or a bank. I got an e-mail from Wachovia last week wanting me to update my information by clicking on the link provided. I don't even have an account at Wachovia!! It had a 1-800 phone number and really looked real. So just being curious, I called the 1-800 number and a recording said the number was not in service!!! Just hit that delete button!! |

I got the same type of email today. Mine says I get a refund of 390.23. I get these type of emails all the time at my aol email address. It is not the address we use for anything financial. it is the email I use to sign up for free stuff and posting on boards etc.. So I am sure someone picked up my email from there. Also I get emails all the time from AOL about my billing. Of course this is not my primary account name so I know it is not legit. If it was they would send it to my primary account name and since I get aol free I dont see how they could have a problem with my credit card. LOL. There are so many scammers out there it isn't funny. |

There is also a scam by telephone for jury duty and they try to get your information ....its verified by snopes as a real scam so be careful, if this is a repost sorry.
