How do you get your hair to flip on the ends?

Can anyone recommend a product and a process? I got my hair cut to shoulder length and layered -- LOVE it!!! It looks cute when I flip it using my big roller curling iron but I'm not able to get it to look piece-y (is that a word?) and the flip falls after awhile.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Hello, I have the same cut, I got a big round brush & roll/brush it while I blow dry. Mousse helps when I add that after towel drying my hair.

I use a revlon blow dry brush combination- its a barrel brush that blow dries my hair. i use it after I blow my hair dry to style it. I finish my hair off with a dime sized amount of a product by Bed Head- called After Party run through my ends with my fingers - it gives it that piecey look. it smells great too-

You could use a flat iron to flip it up at the ends and follow with pomade.

Yeah, you need to use some type of pomade or whatever. That will give you the piecey look.

I blow dry upside down after adding a mouse type product and then finger style with a dab of GOT 2 B GLUED. It is in a yellow tube that stands up on its lid. Great product!

My hairstylist cuts my ends to where it flips on its own. Does anyone else have their hair cut like this?

My hairstylist cut it to do it but I like to airdry (personal preference) my hair still has a mind of its own and a slight bit of wave that makes it go every which way. The cut is versatile enough that I can do many different things with it which is really what I was after. Gotta love these expensive haircuts. Hopefully it will last 3 months!...

The suggestions have worked. I found some pomade and it really seems to do the trick (along with my enormous barrel curling iron which I also use at the roots) and is still piece-y the next day after I use it... hmmm.

Gotta love those products.

Cuthie,
Did your stylist razor cut the ends? For it to work correctly, there has to be alot of layers, and the ends should be razored so they are jagged so you get that piecey effect.
