Vertigo

Have you ever had any experience with dizziness?
I got out of bed in the middle of the night to go to the bath room and bumped into the hall wall.
I didn't think too much about that until I went into the bathroom and had to hang on for dear life and stood there and watched the bathroom window move up and down. It calmed down after that but I didn't feel "right" afterwards and still don't. My tummy is a bit queezy too. I had a few other "spells" when I rolled over in bed and when I got up again. Now I still feel funny, but not really dizzy. I have been moving very slowly when I walk and haven't had any more bad spells.
Anyone have any advice?
I know I should go to the doctor, but.....................

My Granny and Mom suffered veritgo. My granny suffered much much worse than my mom! My mom would take a benadryl or two and try to sleep it off. My granny suffered through it.. and her's wouldn't go away until she threw up.

You might have fluid in your ear.. maybe ear infection and not know it. I did that a few years ago. I was dizzy and both my ears were infected with no fever or pain.

You should go to the Dr.
Hope you feel better soon.

There are lots of things that can cause dizziness.
*Dehydration
*hormonal imbalance (early in pregnancy, right before your period, menopause)
*illness (like the poster above stated middle ear/inner ear)

I have had dizziness from all the above, but I have also had vertigo. There is a medication called antivert that is an Rx that can help w/ the dizziness. Please get checked out and make sure there is nothing serious going on.

I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon.
Also have lots to do for 2 meetings on Sunday, a trip to Florida on Monday and a trip to California a week after we get home from Florida. Neither trip is a real vacation altho we do intend to enjoy both of them!
If you have any good luck to send my way, I will take it!!!

Could be an imbalance with those crystal things in the ear-don't know all the medical terms. That's when you get dizzy if you turn real quickly, etc... I get that every once in awhile. I just go back to the position I was in before I turned, wait for awhle and slowly work my way into moving a bit at a time. Not much worse than being dizzy. Good luck.

I know how hard it is to get to the doctor - but please go. I had this in 2004 (for about six months). I finally went to the doctor and found out I had a eight lb tumor. I was lucky to have lived. In my case the tumor was pushing on the superior veina cava - which is what emptys your brain of blood. While I am almost postive that this is not your case please get it checked out - it is too easy to say "oh its just dizziness" and have it be something that you really need a doctor for.

There was a discussion of vertigo here a while ago:

Anyone Have Vertigo?

Anyway, to answer your question - yes. In a week or so I'll be having an MRI. Mine may be more than just a positional case.

I went to the doctor and by the time I got there, I felt better, well even.
She thought it was probably the "displaced crystals" thing, but gave me some medication in case it came back and it has. I Hope DH will watch the roast I just put on because I think I am going to go to bed for a while!
Thanks for all of your ideas and concerns!
