The premise seems to be that you post your story, the amount you need, and the interest rate you are willing to pay. She told me the site does a credit check, and handles all the money. You never are in direct contact with the borrower unless you both choose. The site also handles delinquencies. You can lend as much or as little as you choose, and can choose what loans you wish to fund.

Browsing it seems an interesting concept, though most of the interest rates look pretty high to me.

Opinions? Experiences?

It looks like a good idea for a lender, but not so much for a borrower, like you said the intrest rates are high.

I am going to keep reading, it looks very interesting! You can loan a minimum of $50 to whoever you choose and by spreading the $50's among a few people, you lower your risk of losing it all (even though a few might default) and still make more than any savings account. I like the fact that they handle the money and the credit report issues and even collections if there is a need. This is the way banks make their money and they make a lot more than they lose.
