Thumbs down Big Brother 9

They finally got the hamsters up:

Home - Big Brother on CBS

Wow. I can't believe that only one black person, no Asians, no Hispanics, no other people of color applied. No one over 20-something applied either apparently. I really used to love bb, but due to the constant lack of diversity in their shows, this might be my last season.

I think once my son goes to college this fall I'm going to apply. Seriously!

I agree the diversity, or lack-there-of, sucks! But I'm still going to watch it...I love BB, as trashy as it is.

There was an article about this season's Survivor having the same issues.

It is a young group, although I saw them on the morning show today and there is one woman who is 45...of course she is a former Penthouse Pet of the year. They will be paired with their perfect match. They had them take a test and now they will be paired with the person considered their ideal mate, and will play as a pair and be sent home as a pair...and win as a pair.

I may be wrong, but I believe this first ever "winter" Big Brother episode is thanks to the writers' strike

I wonder if you apply, if we could help you get on with a letter(email) campaign......

Yep, the writer's strike is why this BB got thrown together like it did....I wish there were more diversity....I wonder what the breakdown is of those who watch it....maybe there are casting to demographics? No matter how corny and trashy and pathetic it can be at times, I still get hooked!

Just an idea......I have been wondering how they were ever going to top Evel Dick. Maybe they knew they couldn't so they went a different route by getting a group that was very similar to see how they react to each other. It may not have anything to do with a diversity issue.

Top Evil Dick? You mean as far as shock value? The absolute best player of all time was Dr. Will; and he was able to win (almost twice) without crudeness.

I briefly read some of the bios, and almost every person claimed to be aggressive, not one to back down, lively, loud and so on. Just how will all these similar personality types get along? They also really needed to add some thirty-something to the mix to even things out.
Almost all were born when I was in high school. Gosh, I feel old already.

I loved E.D. but I can't and could never stand Will. He's so arrogant. He comes on tv for anything and I turn the channel! lol To each his own.
You feel old? They could be my grandkids!!!! lol

Oh I loved Dr Will and Boggie, especially when they went in the diary room together! Dick made the show entertaining, but he was mean and nasty.

He makes me laugh. He knows he's full of himself and he plays it up - that's what makes him charming.

I think he BELIEVES he's the next best thing to God.......that's what I can't stand. Obviously E.D. didn't because he's an atheist (which if very sad).

He's arrogant yes, but he's funny and not malicious. He wouldn't hurt a flea and would never purposely debase a woman or even find it funny.

Time to call the cable co and get showtime turned back on for 3 months! Then I can get caught up on dexter and hubby can watch the brotherhood too.

I'm so bad, I DVR the whole night (well, the 3, or is is 4, hours it's on) and then go on Hamster watch the next morning to see if anything interesting happened. If so I can zip through to the good parts. It's also great to have ST afterdark when the challenges run over the show limit. You might miss the ending of the challenge, because it doesn't start till 11pm here, but you get the hear the housemates all talk about it so you know what happened.

Spoiler!

SPOILER:

Seen on Big Brother after dark...highlight text below - at your own risk:

The secret romance between Jen and Ryan is already out! I'm wondering if the show started live because Jen made a remark "remember the discussion we had last night?" to her alliance.

Alliances are already made and HOH is already determined (which is different from the Power Couple). One couple, Sharon & Jacob, has already been evicted.

I think Sheila, ma, was being a real witch last night!

She sure wasn't giving the guy even a chance....no one said they had to run off and get married, but she sure could have made a little more effort to get along, it is a game afterall.....I don't think he started things off on the right foot by calling her Mom though......

I'm sort of rooting for Jen and Ryan, the real couple, who were paired for other people.....They are Buckeye Fans too and from Buckeye Country..........

Last night wasn't super exciting.....It's a shorter season too, isn't it? And does anybody know if there will be one winner, or will a couple split the winnings, or will a couple win, and each get the money?

I would have liked to have seen Ma paired up with Evel Dick. That might have been fun.

I watched the show last night, and I was disappointed. I'm going to watch it tonight, but I hope it picks up.

Boring people.

I don't like BB at all this time around. I think the players are too young and stuck on themselves.

I don't know if I'll watch any more shows with these people.

Big Brother 9 Sharon's Back

Wow it's been quite the interesting night on the Big Brother 9 Live Feeds. I was a bit confused when I starting watching the Live Feeds tonight and saw Sharon on. I guess Neil left the Big Brother 9 house because of a family emergency or something. Neil got to choose between Sharon and Jacob to replace him. Sharon and Parker have been trashing Jen all night too!

Has this aired on television yet? Are you referring to just the feeds?

I'm with everybody else on this one - I started to watch BBAD (Big Brother After Dark) and Holy Cow, I feel like I've stepped into the twilight zone. So much going on. I knew after watching the 1st one (BBAD) on "opening night" that they went into the house before they aired the 1st show, which was different from all other seasons.

I'm thinking we need a new thread just for BB Spoilers - so those that don't watch BBAD or the live feeds, will not have to find out what's going on unless they absolutely want to.

Yeah, that's not a bad idea Mary.......

Those that watch the live feeds, or check live feed updates or watch BBAD are a little ahead on some things than those that just watch what airs on TV.
