What a bad day

he's 9, first I had to tell him his guinea pig passed away last night. he was pretty upset cause they was together almost all the time, even sat with him while he did homework, and watched tv together. I told him he could stay home but he doesnt like doing that, he's missed one day this year and missing school just isnt what he prefers to do so off he goes.

So it's time for him to come home, he's crying at the front door, the last time one of the guys was crying at the front door, it was my oldest and he was deathly afraid cause he had just gotten attacked by a dog the owners just abandoned. He still doesnt want to be near a dog of any kind, the only one he trusts is ours and she's usually whereever in the house I am.

anyway going by what he said, he was talking to a kindergardener that he's helped write a letter to Santa as a class project, when the girls brother <in 6th grade> shoved my son to the ground hitting his head <my son is in 4th>. Son came in the door and turned around so I could see his head and had blood from the crown back down his neck. i called the school to talk to the pricipal but she wasnt there so will talk to her tomorrow, got his head cleaned up so I could see, it's just a tiny cut, watched for drowsiness and odd signs only thing was that he wasnt hungry so i bout fell over about that.

I'd seen the kid and his sister when i went to pick up my oldest, i told him <politely> that I felt they <the girl her brother and my son> really shouldnt hang around together and that they all could have solved the problem without hurting each other and also that I'd be talking to the principal in the morning. The boy said ok and walked off. This boy also wanted my son to go out on mischief might with him Ummm no i dont think so.

I would be sure that the principal and teacher are very aware of what happened. A kid should not be allowed to shove another boy to the ground and get away with it.

As far as brightening his spirits, maybe buy him another guinea pig this weekend.

My DD has a Chinese Dwarf Hamster, and they are SO sweet.....never have we seen a hamster this sweet before. If you are considering a new furry pet for your DS, you may want to check into those. They don't have a long life expectancy, tho....about 2-3 years.

Sorry for the crappy day he had.

I swear at times like that, don't you just want to trade places with your kid?

Hope the weekend is great - it can only look up from here, right?

Hang in there - "THIS, TOO, SHALL PASS"

I'm so sorry about your bad day!

Guinea pigs are so awesome. I cried like a baby when our guinea pig died.

Tell your boy that the kid who hurt him must have some pretty bad issues to feel the need to hurt another the way he did.
I hope the school does something about that!
