I was at work today and I got disturbing news from hubby about our Oldest son "Thumper" (22 yrs). Hubby received a call from one of the social workers who works/worked with him that Donnie was in the hospital because he got beat up badly, Hubby unfortuantely did not have his cell phone on him when she called so he just had the message and spoke to her later.

Anyhow long story short, "Thumper" got jumped, got the living daylights beat out of him. He is missing teeth, fractured his jaw and will be having surgery tomorrow. Initially he was released from the hospital, but about an hour ago he was taken to the hospital by his friend an EMT and his mother as he was very sick and in pain , its my understanding that they did not want to discharge him initially but "Thumper" was being stubborn and un-cooperative. He has to have a plate put in his jaw during surgery. I dont know much else but I know he needs prayers.

The person who did this has been arrested, there were witnesses who will be called to testify that "Thumper" did nothing to precipitate this attack even though the girlfriend of the attackee claims otherwise, you know how that goes but when you are outnumbered by witnesses who say he did nothing you know who the cops believe not the girlfriend.

The surgery is at 7:30 am Colorado time I think thats Pacific.

So please pray for him and pray for the person who did this to him he must be a very angry person and I imagine they will be facing the same charges that our dis-owned son "Junior" (20) is in jail for in Kansas. Aggravated Assault with bodily injury.

Just send some prayers up to my son "Thumper" if you can he was in the wrong place at the wrong time is what we can gather.

I guess some for us since we are Thousands of miles away in VA and cant get to him I am emotionally and physically drained right now.

Oh m'gosh, your story is one of my worst nightmares as a mom having having sn kids.
Prayers, online support, whatever you need has been dedicated by my remarkable fam consisting of DH (killer prayer warrior) myself, and our 5 remaining at home heir force members.
Please update whenever you are able to do so (but *don't* feel obligated to do so, I truly uhderstand where you're at right now, BTDT, still wearing the grimy tee-shirts ;-)

The hospital called this morning he tolerated the surgery well and he has a Social Worker at the Hospital working with him for aftercare and the worse part is he is on Medicaid and they dont cover a lot of things, but the hospital is trying to arrange for implants for his missing teeth at no cost. However we're 100% sure the guy who did this will be foudn guilty, enough witnesses saying "Thumper" didnt do anything and I bet the Judge will order restitution to not only the state for what Medicaid PAys out but for his pain and suffering that better go into a trust or he'll blow it in one day. "Thumper' is disabled he has issues and has very poor judgement i life and his friends and I feel helpless here in VA that far away from him.

I just pray there is a restraining order I havent heard back from the Arvada , CO police dept yet and I worry so. We're sitting here unable to fly one of us out I dont have enough airmiles on my one Credit Card to get even a one way ticket and I am not going to my Mom for anymore money as want to make sure if she needs a nursing home I have enough money to get her good care, Driving is an impossible task too as I dont think I could handle it and DH doesnt have enough vacation to drive out there and stay, I can leave my job I am only working through Tax Season to pay off our debts so we can relocate to FL but getting there is the problem.

Thank you all for your prayers and good thoughts as I know more I will update I Am going to try to google and see if there is anything in the local papers out there.

DH got pictures sent to him on his cell today of "Thumpers" injuries and I have been forbidden to see them they are that disturbing.

What we thought was going to be aggravated assault charges against the perpertrator isnt so, its are you ready for this ATTEMPTED MURDER and Fleeing the scene of a crime. Also he is NOT in custody as we were originally told and this is based on the jail reports of arrests made and the perpertrator is not listed unless instead of being 20 he was actually under 18.

I dont know I am having a hard time wrapping my head around this I am in a lupus flare from probably over-working my self last week at work and an incident at DS Stefan's school bugged me because nothing was sent home and now this I just dont know what to do where to turn or anything I admit I am overwhelmed and I am thankful for everyone online here and other places I post everyone has been a godsend THANK YOU !!!
