Last year was rough because we lost two of our elderly pets. My Bertie cat in the spring and our Aust. Kelpie Jesse in the fall. We were heartbroken, but we still have Bertie's daughter WeeZee and our Aust. Sheppard Bodine. I have been looking in to herding dog rescues because so many of them get dumped because of the high energy level.

Five days ago we were adopted by Rusty. A two year old male Red Border Collie.
He is a sweet boy, that is as fast as lightning and a little klutzy. He's lovable and has found his place in the hierarchy of animals here. He thinks he is in heaven. He had been living on a chain and now has a full acre that is fenced to run to his hearts content.

Just had to share my good fortune.

I'm so happy for both Rusty & your family too. Its so wonderful when animals finally find a loving home & can accept all the love that they deserve. It looks like he is smiling & that his eyes are twinkling!

My neighbor recently took in a little dog that had been a stray. At first he was so scared & had no social skills. Now he is like a new dog. He loves to ride in the car. She told me today that yesterday he knew he was going for a ride, so got on the bed & helped her put his harness on. He actually knew to stick his head thru the right place to make it easier for her to put it on him. Pretty smart I think.

Awwww, Rusty is so handsome and he is so photogenic! He has a beautiful coat (handsome).

Some are the best dogs are ones that picked us not us pick them. Our dog <Ok she claims me, and only claims DH if he has the treat bag, and only claims the kids if I'm busy then she'll lay down with them> my girl was a stray and we adopted her, she picked me not the other way around we call her my white shadow cause she follows me everywhere heheh

He's got a sweet smiley puppy face! Rescue animals tend to be some of the best creatures out there, so you're probably going to have fun, but how awesome is it for him to get a new home with friends already there? Something tells me he knows, it too.

How sweet! Our neighbor had a dog named Rusty and looked very similar to your Rusty. He was so sweet. Your dog must be very happy to have found such a wonderful home!
